If you're looking at Canyon Lake in Texas... still closed but you can head north to Travis! It's nice up there. Smile

Canon lake will be closed till the end of the year. Also they are impounding people who are putting skis or boats on the lake, so don't try it.

Go to Medina, or Calveres. That is where we have been going lately, and Medina has been great.

Well if Canyon Lake is closed what other lake has clear water besides Travis. Also I plan on taking the family, so there needs to be a campsite or picnic area by the water.
Thanks Pete

Do a search on Lake Sam Rayburn. 15 minutes from Jasper. Clean water, nice clean sandy banks to park at, big lake and lots of camp grounds. There is a place call Twin Dykes Marina, owners are strick as he!!, but the place is nice. Can't go wrong.

Doug, Is Canyon lake still full? Over the launch ramps? The water still has not gone down? Why would they not let boats in the lake?

Mick,

Launch facilities are all still under water. Many picnic & bathroom facilities are damaged. Still lots of floating debris that would be dangerous. Are you going to make it out to Bryan Labor Day? Later.
