You're right, there is no need to keep quiet about wrongs when you see them. There are certainly a great number of unreasonable and even dishonest customers seen by almost any business. [You should see the lies people tell in insurance and health care when they're trying to save a buck that someone else will have to pay.] Heck, start a thread about it. It could be a big one . . I know I could add a couple PWC dealer stories and I'm not even in the business.

I appreciate your position on GPRSD's situation and as I said, I basically agree with you on it. My only point was that if you're going to make comments, it would go a long way toward helping people see both sides of an issue if comments are made about *specific* problems on both sides of the isle.

Your response was indirect. Two wrongs don't make a right is a general comment. Your comments about GPRSD were not general, they were specific about what was wrong.

GPRSD also brings up a point that the time and trouble the dealer and/or Yamaha put him through ought to be considered as well. Particularly if they really were so ill coordinated and couldn't properly explain what they were doing to honor the deal.

Also, the distinction between being a manufacturer's representative and the manufacturer themselves isn't very big from a consumer's point of view. With rebates and a number of other shared costs and incentives it is impossible for a consumer to see a black dividing line. Add to that a lack of choices in some situations (e.g. getting the advertised rebate, warranty service, etc.) and the manufacturer/dealer business combination is one that sometimes has the consumer backed into a corner by design.

Riva has always and I mean ALWAYS treated me right! When I bought a used Raider from Joe, at an awesome price. The next time I came in he looked up and found that it had a Y.E.S. contract on it which made it an even better deal.
The office staff even helped me get a title from yamaha credit for a 1100 that I didn't buy from them (private sale), Now that is service! To top it off when I traded in the 1100 for a gp1200
I got my cash back check from yamaha in no time!!
I swear that all of this is true...try them out you will have the same experience, I promise you. [Big Grin]
