Any thing other than wood bunks? I have tried the rollers and they leave black marks on my ski so I am going back to Wood bunks and I am going to try glide slicks that mount on top of the bunks fro the ski to slide on. Anyone have any other ideas??
Thanks! |

Had the glide sticks, but took them off. Slides became to slick. Might want to try spray on rollers. Its silicon in a spray can. rp

I have bunk sliders and love them. As heavy as the GPR is, you can still move it easily and the carpet on your bunks never wears out. Have not noticed a mark or scratch on the hull either.
You DO have keep your ski strapped down unless its backed into the water. But you should do that anyway... |

I've got the bunk gliders too. I'm keeping them since some of the place I launch are at a shallow angle, and I got tired of having to back my convertible bumper-deep into the water. Now all I have to do is get the end of the trailer in the water and push it off. However, it is a pain sometimes when I'm getting out of the water; a lot of times I'll putt putt up to the trailer, goose it up onto the bunks, then have it slide back down into the water as soon as I kill the jet. And yes, you have to strap the **** out of the ski or it will slide off. They have thier pros and cons; no marks on my ski, though.

just spray silicone on the bunks, the "glide slicks" will scratch your boat

I have wooden bunks with rollers, but I ordered the clear rollers from Overton's so that I don't get any marks on the hull.

I am using a flat bed trailer that I regularly use for dirt bikes, 6x12. Made my own cradle for the ski, now on version three. Version one was wood bunks with sliders, ok. Version two, tried the black rollers and I was less than impressed by the marks left on the hull, and I only drove five miles, imagine what it would look like after 300 miles to the river. Final version is using metal fence posts available from home depot, they are seven feet long and two inch square. Covered them with carpet, attached with a eight inch hinge providing the ability to adjust the angle. The cradle is strapped to the floor of the flatbed so that I can remove in a heart beat to reconfigure the trailer for bikes.
Enjoy the ride, KC |

Wow kc0000, are you humping a GPR on top of a flatbed by your self. Are you Hulk like?
