To be honest, the site was pretty bad. I'm not surprised it shut down.

What are you afraid of? Nothing is being SOLD there. There is no moderator AIMLESSLY editing post. The next generation of boards supports a target audience. It's just another outlet for information, that SHOULD SUPPLIMENT this board, and take some of the burden off of RC. These will be good places to post pictures (which could/WILL be linked to this board) and will end up providing further business for Riva.

Bottom line, is that RC has rules and regs related to the bottom line at Riva, and NOBODY wants to step on any toes talking about a faulty crankshaft or a competitor intake manifold.

If anything this is a boost for Riva, since thier precious bandwidth will be lowered with less of us bantering about aimlessly online...something that we enjoy doing.

I'm going to copy/paste this on my site as well before posting... I'm sure it will be deleted shortly, or I'll recieve some PM telling me how I've violated some agreement... SORRY MIKE, DIDN'T MEAN TO POST THE WRONG THING, BUT I LEFT MY POCKET LAWYER AT HOME TODAY. Frown

QM, I reposted it because I don't agree that the original post violated any rule or the spirit of any rule. Hulk's site is not a business run site, thus it does not compromise Riva's business interests. It is just a forum. Heck, Riva acknowledges this by sponsoring the Yamaha forum on PWCToday. Why do they do that? Because the high number of hits on that site gives Riva some added visibility and potentially HELPS business. The same could be true of Hulk's site. Removing posts that don't actually harm Riva just because RC does not like the content is censorship. I think that is why some of the veterans of this site don't post as much here anymore. Have you noticed how slow this site has been lately?

ok I understand the "post what you want" idea on GH's board but some people just go overboard.

But if you dont agree with RC deleting your post you need to take it up with him/riva.

I have been on GH's board and also on Hydrotoys board. Props to them both for having them.
I do agree we need other board to sell our parts ALL of us are always trying to sell.

But I feel the beatings and bashings that have been on this board to continue maybe, over there?

TMO.

It makes a darn nice GENERAL QUESTION.

Why and WHAT beatings and bashings. I thought that wasn't allowed here???

Plus, where is the FAQ section here? Doesn't exist. What about a place to upload pics and vids? Doesn't exist. What if it is a RIVA part that doesn't work right... don't publically talk about it here.

It's quite simple. If it works for you, stick with it. If not, move along. No need to bicker with an admin. It's not worth their time or yours.
