sammy, we should hook it up this summer and do some riding. I usually stay down on the SC side of Buster Boyd. Myself and about 5 other skis usually ride together. Mostly Gp800r's, Gp12R's and Ultra 150's. We have a good time. We usually hit the water around the first of april.

I think it would be too cold at the lake in the last week of Feb. Our first trip out will be (as always) first weekend in April. We might go earlier if we hit 75 on a weekend.

The wife's ski still needs a top end rebuild...yippee...(800s are harder to work on than 1200s) :-(

Too cold!! Thats bull. I have been out on Keowee twice since Christmas. I would have gone again but I have been the only ski out there.
Onefastjim: sorry I didn't make your last bouy course outing, but if it is sunny and above 50 degrees I will be interested. I posted last month that I found that my ski loses about 50 rpm and 3 mph with the cooler water. Holeshot and acceleration didn't seem to change much, but without another boat it is hard to tell.

Rich...

Mine does the opposite. In cooler weather, my ski has incredible hole shot and I GAIN 50 or so rpms.

UM...your crazy..its too cold and I am a diehard jetskier....Usually the LAST ones on the water here and the FIRST in the spring.

Good to hear from you again FrankieB.
Maybe the difference between riding in the ocean and riding in a mountain lake. You are not the first to call me crazy and won't be the last. How is that XLL running, you have practically rebuilt the engine. The new GP1300R is giving me a good scare, I have ordered one of those I-cut impellers from Island Racing. I doubt I will see any modded 1300Rs on my lake, but just the threat of one has got me wanting to do more to my ski. I feel like the 70 mph mark will be met this year with my GPR.

Please add me to your group. I moved to Columbia from Tampa, Florida in 2001 and have had no one to ride with!

Be great to hook up with some other riders! Usually just me, sometimes I bring my wife or a friend, depending on the action. I've ridden Lake Murray and Lake Wateree a few times each.

Hey you SC boys and girls...

Did you know that you can deduct your yearly property tax paid on your ski's???

I didn't know this but I do now.

Ultratoolman: I usaully put in at Stamp Creek, I will be going out some time when the weather is above 50 degrees and the sun is out. Hopefully we will have some good weather when Onefastjim sets up his bouy course on the last Sunday of this month. I will e-mail you next time I go.
SCGP: the more the merrier, isn't Lake Murray being let down so they can work on the dam? I have a friend whos mother-inlaw lives on Murray and have been there a few times. Keowee would be a 2 hour drive or more from Columbia.

It's is basically unrideable now - down 12'-15'. There are exposed rocks, stumps, etc. No telling what is just below the surface.
