I just talked to a friend down at Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and he said that just this week they have passed a new law banning PWC from 100 ft of the shore of the beach side; can't ride them, beach them, or even park them right offshore. He said it went from Mississipi all the way through half of the FL panhandle. Anyone got any info on this?

Yea, I heard that to, but it only applies to Yamaha GPRs, because they don't want to scare lil kids. A seadoo & the rest of other pwcs can go anywhere it wants to.

Funny; my GPR skeers big kids too. Last year, a 16 year old Sea-Doo'r wanted to know why my ski sounded like it had a 302 chevy in it.

Yes there is a ban that was just passed. They are having a public hearing on March 28th or 29th I believe. It is on another website that has all the PWC related news. You can also check the IJSBA website and they should have info on their.

Smitty, that was my son that asked you why your gpr sounded like a 302. But if you remember right you had told that his seadoo sounded like he had a 502 Chevy in it, and he wanted to know why your ski sounded so weak.

The bsan is true but not as extreme as you said it. The ban is only for the Gulf coast national seashore. Its ablut 10 mi of beach and is a national preserve. If you know the area it is the part just to the east of Pensacola where there are no houses on the island and no parking on the side of the road. Its not much of a loss there isnt a launch for like 5- 10 mi from there.

BIrwin and repoman, my friends and I are thinking about heading to Ft Walton for the last weekend in April. Maybe want to get together and ride, that is if I can get the GPR back together and running by then? They are having an air show that weekend at Eglin; do you know if you can see the Thunderbirds from the water?

ultradean,
I know about the Blue Angels, problem is that they are not performing at P'cola until the end of the summer. I'll be down there for that.
Part of the purpose of this trip is to get as many of the nurses (read: hot little female types) I work with down to the beach several times this year. Wish me luck.
