I am trying to decide whether to install the Boyesen reed stuffers or Boyesen Rad valves on my 98 GP 1200. Need advice from those who have experience in either option. Thanks.

rad valves are not common anymore, so if you have a problem you may have a hard time finding replacement parts.
i love boysen and support thier products as much as possible, but do not get the stuffer kit for the older gp (65U motor) - they are plastic and WILL MELT! the dual stage reeds for the 65U gp1200 are excellant. go with protec reed stuffers, they are metal. ** get a riva reed spacer kit. it will extend the service life of your reeds and allows a greater volume of air/fuel to get into the motor. some say not to use the spacer, but riva & other pros ran it when they were racing the 65U gp1200 and they won. |
