I saw some posts from honest 4-tec owners on the PPG message board that they are reporting speeds registered with GPS no better than 55.9 to 56.1 miles per hour in calm water conditions and are expressing dissapointment (probably because preproduction models were reported to be faster at over 59 miles per hour). A few have said 58-59, but don't refer to GPS as the source for their numbers. One reported 60 on the dream-o-meter, but we know what that means. Since more than one 4-tec owner has reported these speeds after break-in on GPS, I wonder why the big Sea-Doo with all it's cc's and HP isn't a lot faster.

Reports from FX140 owners are placing GPS speeds the same as the big 4-tec. My FX140 dream-o has clicked 57 MPH a few times, but like I said, we all know what that means. I need to get out to the lake and remember to bring my GPS next time.

Glad I bought the Yammy. Wink

The Yamaha 2002 Watercraft Technical Update manual says the following regarding the FX140..

Fuel Injection Cutoff 1-38

Level 1 rpm 10,504 cutoff injector #1
Level 2 rpm 10,563 cutoff injectors #1 and #4
Level 3 rpm 10,997 cutoff injectors #1 #2 #4
Level 4 rpm 11,503 cutoff injectors #1 #2 #3 #4
Instantaneous rpm 11,981 cutoff #1 #2 #3 #4

so..... the FX140 is basically topped out at an rpm of 10,500.... so far I have not felt the Over-Revolution Control.
