I have a 2001 XlT1200 on a "Sports Trailers" brand galvanized trailer. This brand is manufactured in my home state of Alabama, and is sold by many PWC dealers throughout the state. MY PROBLEM is the boat will slide off the trailer while at ramp angle if the winch strap is un- hooked. Makes drive on loading and unloading difficult, esp. if I am by myself. I need suggestions on how to adapt/overcome my problem. Is this common with PWC ? I have never had this problem with other full size boats, and drive on trailers. Thanks for your input.

I use a "Sports Trailer" brand trailer also but haven't had any problems with the ski sliding off. What I do is put about 1/3 of the runner into the water, the remaining 2/3 is still out of the water. When I drive the ski onto the trailer it usually stops just short of the roller at the front. I then hook the strap to it and crank the ski the rest of the way up. Hope this helps. BTW where do you ride? I'm from P'cola and mostly ride Styx and Perdido river and anywhere from Pensacola Beach to Gulf Shores, AL

It's amazing....the launch ramp.

Your putting the trailer to far in the water.

Your job is to figure out how far to put the trailer in the water so that you can push the ski off the trailer with minimum effort and not have it slide off before you are ready.

Jason thanks for the advice on loading..I will try that. I mainly ride the Mobile River Delta and Presley's Lake near the Miss/Alabama line, but would like to ride some of those fresh water areas towards Florida.

JetEd...thats just the problem..the ski will start to slide off the trailer before its even in the water, just from being on the slant of the ramp..makes unhooking the winch strap a pain..

Hey JPG, are you gonna be riding this weekend? I'm planning to ride I just don't know where yet. This might be the last time I get to ride in the area for a while, I'm moving to Ft. Lauderdale in Aug. I know it's kind of short notice but if you want to organize something for Sat or Sun let me know.

No, I'm not laughing...this is the laugh face> Big Grin

On the really steep ramps you don't have a choice.
All you can do is winch the ski off.
