I've recently heard of a law suit story. Yamaha would have sued TS for copying hull design of one of their models, banning the company from making pwcs for 5 years.
Now back in those days I knew of a French team that was ready to race them for the 2000 Euro championships, everything was ready, from the pilots to the caterers. When TS annouced the withdrawal, it was indeed a big surprise and a huge deception for them, even the french importer didn't know.

Thank you 11, I had read that somewhere else and I was hoping you would come up with the answer. In other words my tigershark hull is a copy of the famous yamaha hull. NOt bad after all.

I believe the Tiger Shark used Suzuki motors.
Maybe thats why they went under. Along with the old Wetbikes. I had a Wetbike and it was a pain in the arse.

They indeed used Suzuki engine, very reliable and fairly powerfull, the TSR was a very good boat in 99 (similar to a GP1200), just some strange reasons made them quit.
