Big Brother saves a life, when I get the microcihp implanted in my forehead? Smile I'm just kidding, I am glad to hear the woman survived. I wonder what caused her to crash in the first place. Snapped steering cable?

Your right Mark, some people don't use common sense to be safe. It is never wise to ride alone.

I live 5 minutes from this place and there are places where if you wreck, no one will ever know for a while. There is the chance where there is not much if any traffic there for hours at a time on a busy day.
And to top this off, this area has alligators in the area.
This city's school district mascot is the Dickinson "GATORS".

I suggest a decent small waterproof marine vhf radio in addition to the cell phone. Channel 16 will get you help in a hurry. And it might be for someone you happen upon, not necessarily for you or your friends. Cell phones at oceanside sometimes lose signal pretty darn close to the shore.
