As for Muslims driving out christians and killing them in every country they inhabited. Well christians have commited plenty of murder and pillage in the name of religion too. Here's a few outstanding moments in christian history:

# The Crusades were military expeditions undertaken by European Christians in the 11th, 12th, and 13th centuries to recover the "Holy Land" from the Muslims. ie, the church sanctioned killing. There were 8 crusades/wars.


# Pope Gregory IX instituted the papal inquisition in order to kill heretics (non-catholics). Non-catholics were killed by methods including burning at the stake.

# Pope Sixtus IV authorized the Spanish Inquisition. The Spanish Inquisition sought to "purify" the people of Spain by killing Jews, Protestants and other non-catholics.

You should also look at the old testament, there's stuff in there I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. For some Religion is just a vehicle to spread hatred and stupidity.

I haven't checked out GPR Cops wesbsite, so I won't comment on that. I will say he has a tough job though - a lot tougher than what I do every day thats for sure.

Irie (sp?) - You get upset because we don't know the whole story behind the Irish situation (Catholic vs Protestant we thought but now we know that's incorrect), yet you wonder why we're upset with your take on the American situation? Your knowledge of our situation comes from the same source that our knowledge of yours comes from.

"America is now the terrorist"...that is BS and you know it. We've come to the rescue of almost every country on the planet at one time or another. I remember seeing the blood and body parts of the market place in Sarajevo (sp?) and wondering "why don't we do something?" Well, we did and though things aren't perfect yet, the killing has stopped.

We are not going to sit by and wait for know "bad guys" to try and top 9-11. I really don't care if other countries are on our side or not. If they are really against it, they can pool their resources and try to stop us. My take though is they'd be too cowardly to do anything other than protest and call us war mongers.

I want to be able to go where I want without wondering if the guy on the motorcycle in the lane next to me has a bomb or a 9mm. I want to wake up and turn on the news wondering if its going to rain or snow instead of "did something happen while I was asleep?" I want my daughter and 2 sons to enjoy the freedoms that I had when I was their age.

We are the lone superpower. I don't think we have an obligation to be the cops of the world and stick our nose everywhere - after all, we broke with the Brits via the same "revolution" methods some suppressed people are trying now.

But when the innocent people of the world can't defend themselves from ruthless dictators and murders, and when the freedom of my children to go and do as they please is threatened, then it is our obligation to do what is necessary to stop or prevent it.

I have to agree there are a lot of countries in the world who do not have International Terrorism bulls eyes on them, places like Ireland, New Zealand, and even Japan, and so its difficult to understand our situation. But you can bet if you are not Muslim, and you are a friend of the United States or anyone who opposes the methods of International Terrorism, your time is coming. Don't Believe me? Ireland (since that was indeed me who was a bit miffed over it) and in the very same sentence you have a go at me for commenting on the american situation (which I remind you yet again I have not done). Why do you keep commenting on some sort of opinion that I have not even expressed? Unless you consider posting a link to someone else's website an opinion.
Then you follow on saying "America is the terrorist.... that's BS and you know it" It wasn't very clear, but since you were addressing me in the previous sentence I thought it was still directed at me. But if it wasn't then sorry, the way it read just sounded like it was still directed at me.

About the garbage I allegedly spewed about Powell; those sites I linked to are both respectable news sites, the New York times and Channel 4 news in the UK. So I think the information there is as valid as any other source of information available out there (including what everybody else here has to say about this that and the other) short of seeing everything with your own eyes which isn't very realistic. Everyone's free to evaluate the articles and make up their own minds. And for better or worse it doesn't seem like the UN weapons inspectors opinions are being taken too seriously by the big decision makers at the moment anyway so how am I any different?

As for linking you in the post with others here is what I said:

I never asked you to remove or modify the opinions expressed on your website in any way - did I now? You have every right to say what you like, even if others think it is garbage. You posted the link to your site on this *discussion* forum where people share thoughts and ideas so I gave you mine. Plain and simple. I didn't get much offended by it, just thought you said some pretty ignorant stuff. But it's hard to get annoyed at people who say ignorant things because often they simply don't know any better I'm not trying to convince you or anyone else of anything, just saying it like it I see it.

For what it's worth, I do genuinely sympathise with the loss and suffering of the american people as a result of 9-11. A family friend was lost in that tragedy too.
But what I have said has nothing directly to do with that sensitive issue.

As U.S. citizens we have our opinions from 911 and our news propaganda. We have families and loved ones here.

We know Saddam is bent on revenge.

We know Saddam gives money to terrorists families. Which in turn fosters more terrorism.

We know Saddam has killed thousands of his own people.

As people from other countries you have your own opinions. If you read enough news articles from all different news agencies you will find that there is a counter story for every story. What makes you sure your story is the correct one.

We are the ones the terrorists really want to kill. Its easy to sit in a country that is not the prime target and give opinions.

The only thing this fu#*ing thread has done was to make me wonder about my previous opinion on Ireland (which was positive) and give me negative feelings about part of my heritage.

I hope this negative thread is deleted soon.

And I hope we cause a regime change that will benefit all mankind.

I dont understand why I should believe anybody... especially when I watch a dateline report about the investigational team after Desert Storm say they deny recieveing any information or giving any report that suggests Iraq has weapons of mass destruction, and they do not know why the President is saying so?

I still have not seen any convincing evidence that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction -wish they would define that, becuase everybody got some sort of weapon, and Mr Powell showing a little vial -I mean COM'ON, please. If they hard hard proof there would be no need for inspectors.

This thing in Venezuela (sp?) is rediculus and the US gov't isnt doing anything, why because the people in power and controll are filling their pockets, same as why there is no serious movment to go to alternative energy cars.

There are many and similar predictions as to what happens with the hole middle east, some are conservative, some are extreme...
