I just heard that the City of New Orleans is sending 2500 relief workers/contracters to be housed in Morgan City.

I don't see how this event can happen, there not going to be much change within a month or two. Gas, roads, power and a place to stay are something that is not available in the south right now. Things will continue to get worse. I think Jerry will just have to watch for use and give us updates. I want to go really bad, but over a million people don't have a home and this spot is very close to home that will cause major problems. Problems that we might have, thieft, no gas, no rooms, current roads that I took there are no longer possible. I say lets just pray for everyone and see what happens.

It looks like the Destin Fl. trip is set for Nov. 3 thur 6. Same type event we have every year. I always go to both, but if we have to cancel one, then this will be the only other year end get together. The only think its a little far for the TX riders, thats why we had something that was in the middle.

The Mudbug event is still on as of right now. Our city is intact and the waterways clear.

Glad everyone here made it. I don't know if a few of us will be able to make it to Mudbugs this time.

I left my ski at Bruce's to fix a few things and never got a chance to pick it up before the storm. From what i've heard, chalmette was destroyed and so was my ski. Hope I can find it and at least take some parts off of it.

I'm in Dallas now and am heading to Houston on Monday. I will probably be there for a few weeks. New Orleans and surrounding areas aren't expected to get power for another 4-6 weeks.

I am fortunate though, at least I have a house to go home to in Metairie. My family's house in Pass Christian was destroyed, just thankfull it's just a summer home. I spoke with a few of my friends from Waveland and Bay St. Louis and they lost Everything, "TOTAL DEVISTATION". Still trying to contact a few other friends from Mississippi but the phones are still on the fritz.

Hope to get in touch with them soon.

Hey Supercharge-my childhood home was in Metarie and I was wondering how much you knew about this area? My house was located on Hastings Street. Along with my old home, I spent many years traveling up and down the Gulf Coast from Metarie to Mobile visiting relative when I was young. I can't even imagine how this whole area looks in person.

Jerry-

What do you think the status will be of the hotel we booked? I wonder if the hurricane victims will have loaded the place up, and whether the hotel will honor reservations made months ago?

Haven't checked this site in quite some time but does anyone remember SeaYa? I thought he was located in La. but haven't seen him in quite a bit. Fernando or DMD have you guys talked to him at all?

On another note wish you guys down in the south luck with everything that has happened.

Haven't talked to him in years. I mailed him some parts at one time......but then he just began to post less and less.

Vanished.

Hello all. It's been a rough 2 weeks but the people in Dallas have been very helpfull. Got to visit my city a couple of days ago and well....IT LOOKS LIKE A WAR ZONE. Helicopters are flying everywhere and armed national guards stand on almost every corner. I had to leave again though, with no power and nowhere to eat or get fuel there was really no reason to stay. Like I said before I am one of the fortunate ones. My house still stands with only minimal damage. It's kind of a hit and miss down there, one house may be totally wiped out while the one next to it is virtually untouched. The smell is horrible and some streets are impassable. I am in sales for a local home improvement company that specializes in hurricane protection, so there's no doubt i'll be extremely busy when the dust settles.

My ski, however, is gone. Although we have not been able to locate it, the insurance company said it's a total loss, hopefully I can find it and take some parts off of it. Wonder what seadoo has in-store for 2006.

I want to thank those who are keeping Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama victims in your prayers. Progress is well underway(in Louisiana anyway). My heart goes out to the people in Mississippi who literally lost EVERYTHING, they will need alot more than prayers.

I finally have full access to to the internet and will be checking in frequently.

Thanks again.

Beau
