Actually I am a Machinest and Heliarc welder.
I run anything from a 12" craftsman lathe here at the house to a 72" and 96" horizontal lathe and a Union cnc lathe. The 72" King and 96" Betts, spit out shaving chips the size of Quarters when removing metal 1/4" to 1/2" deep a pass. Here is a pic of 2 typical shaving.
