Hi Bad!
Hope I can help you out a little on this one. I'm sure more posts will follow. I ride in the IJSBA and there are different levels of riding, from beginning to PRO. The PROS are normally factory backed and I'm sure they get paid but have to perform. That I really can't tell you about because I'm at the Novice Level. The amount of money you have to put out to race depends on ALOT of factors. First and foremost is the class you want to run in and what money you want to put into your machine. The faster the class typically the more $$$$ in mods for your ski. As far as monetary rewards, in Novice there is only what you seek in sponsorship. This can be by approaching different manufactures of products that are PWC related. This sponsorship typically results in reduced prices on parts, etc. And you can seek other businesses that want to advertise where you put their name on your ski to advertise for either money or something else you may need.

Again, there are entry fees, travel and lodging, depending on the region you live in and number of races. Maintenance of the ski, fuel, oil, the list goes on. But the main thing to remember is you're going on a uphill climb in a sport you love. All racers I know are very competitive and go to the line with an "I'm gonna win!" attitude. That is a must and stay focused on your goal, whether it to just be a few races for fun or to make it to the World Finals to compete against the finest in the world in your class.

The level of racing depends on what you have and what you want to put into it. But always remember, whatever racing you may decide to do, safety is #1! A trophy can be replaced, a life can't! Well, off my soapbox for now!! Hope this helps a little!! Big Grin
