I also got a e-mail yesterday for someone trying to access my account in NIGERIA. I'm sure related so be carefull and beware all. It also knocked out all "my" auctions so I apologize to anyone who sees this who was interested, I will relist.

Yea, there are a lot of them. I just got burned for purchasing a JL Audio 1000/1 amplifier. If you know anything about car audio, you know how much those cost. If it is over $100, I use a credit card. I am protected that way. Took 30 days but Ebay refunded $175.00 and Discover gave me the rest back.

Ebay just shut my account down due to unauthorized use. My password was hacked.

I think auctions that were not mine were being hosted with my user name. Also other users were being spammed from my user name.

lakemotox, I have been using ebay a lot lately and I had the same problem. WATCH OUT FOR SPOOF EMAILS. People send you these, posing as ebay or paypal and they tell you to do things like "we need you to re-enter your credit card number to update our records" or something like that.

I just got an email last night from an "ebay member" asking me a question about one of my items. I hit the respond button and it asked me to sign in. The problem was it wasn't a secured site, it was a "fake website". All they needed was for me to enter my account and password and they would have full access to my account.

I urge everyone on this board to be extremely careful. These spoof emails are getting more common!!

I sold my PS2 and got an email saying that the payment was confirmed and that all i needed to do was send a tracking # to that email and the money will be deposited into my account. Its all fake..when buyers offer to pay for shipping through their fedex account and give you the b/s that they have a small kid in Nigeria that needs this they are just trying to make you feel bad and therefore ship the item out and you recieve no money. However, i called paypal and they were trying to do an escrow service..just another thought for you guys to know..BECAREFUL!
