My GPR hasn't thrown me too bad yet (knock on wood)but my XL1200 beat the Cr@p out of me. I broke a big toe getting tossed at 50. I had another when I was going from side to side of the waterway that it turned and sent me down the waterway in front of my ski on my back skimmming along watching the ski coming ever so closer. Luckily it stopped before I did. The worst and last crash I had was 2 yrs ago when I decided the original intake grate improves speed. I was topped out at 60 and let off the throttle. The next thing I remember is floating in the middle of the waterway with a boater stopped asking me if I was alright. My ski was beached on the shore and the 2 seats were floating down the waterway. I love my GPR :-)

At a race .....was on the start took off and was passing a guy on my right who jumped the band but still got him and since the track had a hugh sweeper on the outside start you could keep it open....

Just as we entered the turn I had passed him a second or so earlier and he cut outside of me on the left ....but he wasnt all the way behind me yet....tagged my tail enough to break loose the rear of my boat.
I ejected as the boat went right and I went striaght. AND ...STICK!!!! AWWWWW!!!!

Boat was a little over 70mph...
Everyone went right by and missed me....and only a small crunch on my boat....
Talk about one of the lucky ones.
I got a big wiplash and did the lightly black out dazzed feeling...floated for about a minute got back up on the boat and finished the race. Was definetly off the pase... Frown

Got 2nd in the next moto... Big Grin
Hurt like h.ell the next day too!

My two good ones weren't that bad.

Running the GPR in a creek and got thrown in a turn at about 63 or so. Skip, skip, LOG! Fortunately, it was was winter and I had my full wetsuit on and the lifejacket/wetsuit took the majority of the impact.

The one that hurt the worse was the STXR. I had only had the ski a little while and was only going about 55 or so and passing over a wakeboard boat's wake. Ski zigged, I zagged and got my feet swept out from underneath me. The part that made it bad was I landed upside down on the back of my neck first. Instant whiplash and a lingering pain for a little over a year, but it finally went away.

My buddy got a GP the same time I did that ran dead even with mine. Whoever got the better line in and out of the corners pulled slightly ahead. He got a little in front of me one time, did a nice graceful turn away and sprayed me good. It was on then! Running neck and neck ('bout 30 mins later), I pull slightly ahead and instead of a nice graceful spray, I spazed. I cartwheeled one way, the ski went a hundred yards the other, my sunglasses (on a floaty) went another.

Surfaced to my buddy doing 360's around my head drowning me. He found my sunglasses minus lenses and with cracked frames (wore them around laughing when he came to soak me again), and proceeded to drag my ski further up current and made me swim for it. Slightly dazed and confused and out a pair of sunglasses, but nothing broken.

Not a GPR Fall, but I used to race Region 8 Endurance on a POlaris Hurricane.
Raced out of Seaside heights nj, heat didnt start until 1pm and by then we had 5-6 foot rolling waves that we had to run parallel with. Every time you went airborne, you moved about 10-15 feet to the right. So I bailed to avoid a mid-air collision. Surfaced to look for my boat and all I heard was the engine of the HX that was landing on my head and shoulder. Dislocated shoulder saw stars, found the boat, ran the rest of the course lap and ended the race for the day until I could get the shoulder back in place. Needless to say I wouldnt race the hurricane in the open water endurance anymore. Smile

First time I was with Cajundude when he broke his leg in the gulf just off Galveston, jumping waves.

Second time I was with Coop when he broke his knee in the gulf just off Galveston, chasing down a big fishing boat.

Anyone want to go ride in Galveston with me this weekend??

Mick

Sandman, Yea just spray the motor down with silicone spray and your set. Rinse it with salt away after the ride. We need to go to Canyon Lake.
I dont have time to ride untill August. I only have 2 races left and am first in points and my buddy is trailing by only -20 points from me.
But if I did go to galveston Ide take the Blaster 2 and the superjet. I can see getting hurt on the superjet.

Cajun, that last line was realy a pun.
If you guys go tuning let me know. Next weekend I race in Baytown. YOU GUYS COME ON OUT!!!

Mick

Mick, I tried to find you this weekend at the races, but missed you. I saw ol' blue #521 but didn't see you. Then later I saw you walking off next to the ski being pulled by a 4 wheeler I think. I thought you might come back down, but didn't see you again.

I just caught a few races, didn't see you run though. The 1200 Novice Stock class was pretty fun to watch. The woman that was running second can ride pretty **** well Smile Lotsa freaking STXRs and SXRs out there it seems like. A lot diff than the last time I was out.

I got off on my GPR at 67 mph + while racing a guy on the Colorado river just below the Parkerdam. I beat him by about 8 boats, then let up and the thing went left. I went straight. I remember tumbling across the water not knowing which way was up..till I stopped. Turns out I had a broken Riva intake grate from hitting a rock bar an hour earlier. I raced him anyway because he rode up to me and said " so how does it feel to have the second fastest ski on the water?". It hurt, but it was the greatest race because of the look on his face after getting his ass whupped on.

Jarrett, Oh that was your RXP I saw after I loaded my ski's up. Yea that 4-wheeler was maxed out at getting the gpr and standup out of the water on the double trailer.
I got the heck out of there as soon as I could after my second moto. I was tired and wanted to get home before midnight.

Hey, get my broken bones right. IT WAS THE HIP MAN!!! Boy did it hurt. 10.5 hours surgery along with a fractured knee. Cant tell where I was hurt and am strong as ever. SmileMick on what date are your races and where in baytown. At Genes Polaris? I was with fullboogie when the shark bit him on another occasion. Didn't look good seeing someone being tossed off.
