O.k. I will be the first to say it.. That thing is FUGLY....... What happened to the hood of that thing.. It looks like it came from Star Wars or Buck Rogers...

To be honnest I'm disappointed,
I don't think they look as tricky as the teaser suggested and that nut crusher, not for me, thanks. In the surf it's, IMO, a HUGE handicap, that could led the rider to another handicap, and I still eventually want to have kids!!! The design is a mix of Kawasaki STX (hull), GPR (footwells), XLT (seat), Honda (twisted rubrails), Sea Doo (front hood), Ultra (bars) and other "borrowed" details. Now it seems heavy, and even if it's the lightest 3 seater 4str, it's still heavy to me. I wouldn't expect miracles from a twin 750, even with a turbo, that's a 500cc handicap compared to the F12X, for example. They're short one cylinder. Unless they found a way to defy the laws of physic. Sorry, I don't see where's the threat to the STXR as a musclecraft and the F12X as a sport tourer. 11 |

Guess what?
They will sell like Hotcakes, and will be the talk of the Local Lake. |

The bottom line is:
They are still Polaris... (my point is - how many podium finishes do they have over the last 10 years?) |
Airborne, that's not hot from the press, that's hot from you copy/paste button from a site that actually gets the news.
Posting a link is ok, pasting ALL an article isn't, that's not the spirit, IMO. Or maybe you wanted to highlight the fact Polaris just copied the competition, picking from here and there. For a small company like Polaris, following the trend is the way to butt chewing as like always they won't match the competition. Mario, that's no arrogance, that's disappointment. 11 |

I think that thrashers comment sums up my views of this new boat as well...where is the space suit?
Several crafts out offer power in the 150ish range. It is going to take a bigger jump to get me to buy yet another companion for my 155HP GPR. 170 HP sounds good...as does 250. Yeah, I'll hold my breath. 11 is just jealous that his GP does not look as super-spacey as the Polaris -GT |
Actually I love the GP for one thing, no one is never afraid of it, and mine looks fairly stock so it's hard to suspect it has triple pipes and around 190hps.
So when a guy at the launch explains me why and how his spanking new 4tec is so superior, i listen to him saying I should get a new boat, then I smoke him pretty hard and tell him his ski must have a problem, so he b!tches at his dealership on the monday morning, it's loads of fun. I even consider having my upcoming 2003 triple piped STXR re done to look like an STX DI (paintjob, stickers.....) 11 PS : I know I'm twisted. [ 08-01-2002: Message edited by: 11 ] |

quote: 11 THIS ia arrogance no matter what you call it (a rose by any other name). I guess that makes you an UNCOMMON SCHMUCK?? |

Hey I have "da lil' familly" and I think most on here do. I guess that makes me a "common schmuck with da lil familly".
Please spare us common shmucks your 'pwc according to ll' bullsh*t ![]() |
he meant that the average guy is gonna buy this and think its the best thing since sliced bread b/c they are uneducated.but i wouldn't rule out the ski until performance numbers are giving.i mean if ur winning on a ski shaped like a turd your still winning.i'm not impressed with the apperrance but i will not say that i am not impressed with the whole ski til some #'s come out.

I don't appreciate the common schmuck being uneducated comment one bit, it's not demonstrative of anything relevant in this thread or forum and is insulting to those "unlike 11" for lack of a better term. The fact that someone has "lesser" taste than you makes that person "common" is as biased a statement as I've ever heard, and I don't appreciate bias, even if it's coming from a friend. What are we here, the most educated uncommonly sofisticated people in the world? That is SUPER arrogant!
i didn't mean uneducated liek schooling educated imeant like uneducated as in unexperienced w/pwc.sorry if i offened anyone.
I don't think any of you ride his GPR with a pic nic baskett in the front storage and the wife on the back not paying attention to anything else but wondering if he hadn't forget the ketchup.
If you do some "touring" or picnic (I do it myself, just that it's not always the same woman) I hope you do it the right way. Now the common uneducated schmuck buys his ski(s) for touring purpose only and will make the waterways dangerous because he doesn't know crap about safety and doesn't want to know. I didn't consider myself as any kind of elite, untill witnessed the LAME riding level on all the waterways and will led us to move to guatemala to be able to ride after they will have the all of us banned. Those SCHMUCKS made an elite out of normal safe and educated riders. 11 [ 08-01-2002: Message edited by: 11 ] |
