Todd, do you think I care how many STXRs are sold?
I have no share anywhere and just pick the best ski for what I expect, whatever the brand. Now I'm not stupid enough to buy a boat because of its brand. Being brand loyal is asking to get screwed. Anyway I prefer a boat that outruns the competition than a boat thatoutsells it. One is enough for me. 11 |

11, you have to go out of state to buy the STXR because it is not allowed to be sold in Cali. Only 4 strokes or DIs are allowed for sale in Cali. What if a problem arises with the STXR? I'm not positive on thiws but it might have to be tacken out of state for warranty work too? I'm not saying this is a good thing that carbed 2 strokes can't be sold in our state but these are the facts.
All us Polaris fans are saying is that it seems like Polaris has a very good lineup for 2003 with good choices for a majority of the buyers. I am not too brand loyal because I currently own 2 Polaris, a Yamaha and a Kawi but if I was in the market for a 4 stroke, the new MSX sure seems like a great ski to consider. I would consider myself more of a USA loyal than Polaris brand loyal (they just happen to be the only USA PWC co.) and no it's not because of 9-11's patriotic resurgence. I have been like this for countless years. What's hillarious is that people have been dogging Polaris for years now saying the styling, ride, size etc was not there and now that they have a very cool looking, imo kinda futuristic pwc with new 4 stroke technology in a smaller package that is supposed to have a great riding and handling hull, they still get dogged. Now it's because it's maybe too revolutionary or too much of a change for them? One thing is for sure, the Poalris domestic 2 stroke engines are arguably some of the most reliable pwc engines to date. The 750 4 stroke is yet to be proven but I have a feeling it will be just fine. Not to mention that of all the released 4 stroke models so far, the Polaris is the lightest. If it is the same performance as the Honda turbo, it's a big time winner? I think it will perform a little better then the Honda Turbo though. At least I am wishing it does to finally silence all the crap Polaris owners have taken for years. Then again, it might be the best thing since sliced bread and still not get the respect it deserves. I really don't care but wanted to present my side. |

Zoltan, I see your point
But I don't mind going outta state, and anyway, a triple piped STXR has no warranty. And if local dealers can't sell the skis, they can sell the parts. About the Made in USA thing, so are Yamahas and Kawasakis (at least the hulls and assembly), the Honda should be made in USA next year. 11 |

I figured you wouldn't be leaving it stock for long. I think you know what I meant by Poalris and USA? It is not the same as Kawasaki, Honda or Yamaha, although the lines get blurred more each year it seems, but Polaris is more American then the rest. So when are you getting the STXR? Better question is when are you getting the triples on there? The best question, LOL is when do I get to try it?

The Ski's look interesting to me but what I really want to see is some real world performance figures.. Thats when I'll be making decisions. It may look a bit funky but if it breaks backs, I'll ride it.
As for nut crunching... The R1 I had did plenty of that when you pulled real hard on the right lever and indo walked down the street, yet I loved most every minute on it. Raj |

hmm 750 150hp turbocharged twin streetbike thats just downright scary if i was a engineer looking to design the perfect engine to put in all my products that would be a great start

Zoltan,
It will be a winter project, most likely based on a 2003 STXR, which is said to come stock with an awesome look. About the tuner, I have a list of skilled people I don't want to bug for now, I'll start figuring that out around oct/nov when I'll have some time. 11 |
