As everyone knows a Hurricane hit some friends just west of Florida.
Hang in there guys a fleet of help is trucking north west to help out. The news has shown over 100 red cross trucks and thousands of power trucks. Plus a Army of contractors rushing in.

Check with FEMA as soon as possible. They do alot for you. If anyone in the affected area is getting this.... Confused

Even RIVA's back yard is still without power but they are far better off.

After last year I have a totally new attitude and am praying for all of you.

If you have updates then us let us know.

Were ok here in Jackson MS, the eye turned at Hattisburg before it got to us. Got damage throughtout the city and nobody in the city has power. Could be weeks, before that happens. There were a lot of people that got hit hard, at least 55 people already confirmed dead in MS alone. I fear there will be many in LA. due to the heavy floods were they set below sea level. We should have more news tommorrow when they are able to get to people that are underwater to there roof tops.

my parents are in South Jackson (that is where i grew up) and they say the same thing. Jackson officially got 100mph wind gusts yesterday which has absolutly devistated the city. They say it will be mid-september before they get the power back.

30 Students from the University of Southern Mississippi decided to have a Hurricane Party at an apartment on the beach in Boloxi. They were all confirmed dead this morning. I feel sorry for their families for the loss but its real hard to feel sorry for the individuals because they were told to leave and like many others out there, they didn't take it seriously. They knew the risks and have no one to blame but themselves for their decisions.

My whole family lives in New Orleans. I've seen pics of the neighborhood and it doesn't look good. My mother made it to me after a 13 hour drive. My grandparents made it to Baton Rouge with my cousin to ride it out and then onto Houston after Katrina wiped its azz all over New Orleans. Most of my people made it out except my dad and an uncle. They are still MIA. Hope all is well.

It seems like this storm ahs affected someone you know or someone who knows of storm victims. Amazing. Flyboy1300 grew up in Biloxi, his whole family still lives there, his parents and cousins are ok eventhough they live blocks away from the Gulf in Biloxi.

We have a lot of "refugees" or displaced people here in FWB from the storm..they are all in a state of shock right now.

Request ya'lls nightly prayers for these families who have no idea if their family and friends are alive or not. This is the storm of the new century..it will affect all of us southern Gulf coasters for years to come I'm afrad.

As of this morning I think everyone has been accounted for so this is good news indeed.

I'm going @#$% nuts right now. My house has been swamped (no pun intended) with people. We heard from my dad last night for the first time. He "commondiered" (spelling?) a boat and went and picked up my uncle. My uncles house has a couple of feet of water. My dad's house has a couple of feet. My cousin's house and my grandmother's house (from what we are told) have no water or broken windows. Not sure how cause it is only blocks from some of the horrific pics we've seen on television.

My mom's side of the family...aunt and uncle made it here to Houston. My cousin and my other aunt made it to Hot Springs, Arkansas. She works for the feds and is giving us much info that we don't see on the news. Their houses are completely gone (St. Bernard). My cousing just bought his about a month ago. Her parents also own the Magnolia Plantation in St. Bernard which is under. Lots and lots of antiques that they had appraised 2 weeks ago. The looting is way more than we are seeing. They are walking around with automatic weapons shooting people to take stuff. Waiving down cars for help and then robbing them. There are, from what I am told, thousands of bodies strewn about. Because of the looting, her brother and brother in law left hot springs with guns in hand and chartered a helicopter very determined to get back to the plantation. The air zone deal went into effect as they were getting there and they only made it to Covington, LA which is about 40 miles a way. Haven't heard the latest. There have also been rapes and a murder or two in the Super Dome. Nice huh, and these people are being moved here. Again, this stuff is coming from a family member who has mucho clearance. Troops are being mobilized to go there, hint hint, more than they are telling us on the news.

I will be going to New Orleans on Monday if they let people come in. I think we are supposed to be able to go in, grab stuff, and then not return for 1 month. We are still debating on what to get because of the looting. My cousing that is here and myself will be going armed to the teeth. Right now I would give anything to shoot one of those #$%%^$###$%%$$##$$. My dad plans on staying. Haven't figured that one out yet...

The National Guard has set up camp at the Zephyr field (AA baseball) which is pretty close to our houses and FEMA has set up even closer.

Thanks Jeff. I will now have two 9mms, a .38 and a 12 gauge. Fullboogie is lending me his and I will be leaving the shotgun and my 9mm with my dad.

It is getting really bad there. Shots are even being fired at the rescue helicopters. The majority of people just have no idea of what is really going on down there. They are nothing less than @#$$%$##@ animals! Shot fired at Children's hospital. They just took over the Tulane Medical Center and are holding hostages.

There is a direct link so you can have sound for a police scanner as well. If you are interested you can get the info from page 17 on the Corvette Forum at this link.

Thanks Coop! Hope you don't get any BS overflow from the Dome. Be careful! My family has fortunately been accounted for so far. We have one more that is making her way this way today supposedly. Have no idea about any of my friends over in N.O.

Anyone here about Jerry (Green Hulk) in Morgan City? I haven't checked other posts but just thought about it. Hope he and his family is doing well.

Be careful on your trip cajun. We were contemplating taking in a displaced family but have had second thoughts since these some of these people are starting to show what kind of people they can be. I know some are desperate, but looting for anything other than food or medicine is crazy. I work near our downtown area and we have already had people walking up asking for help. 1 was looking for a Methadone clinic. Sad situation for everyone.
