Man, Charles and Cajun..you guys are in my prayers for sure. I am trying to help Flyboy 1300 and his family..I made sure he was well-armed (which is another passion of mine) He may not have a squad to help him, but he won't need it. Wink

I am going to help he and his family in Biloxi next week, and will be armed with the same small arms America's finest have in Iraq. Class 3 and CCW is great in Florida. Praise the Lord and pass the ammo is my motto. Anyway, James' parents are scared someone is gonna jack their stuff if they leave. He is going to try and convince them to come to FWB.

Anyways..you guys hang tough, it will get better it just takes time, we know this first hand with the recent storms we've had here in the hurricane state. I was actually complaining to my wife last week about the $12,000 damage to my roof thanks to Dennis...at least I got a roof, huh? Let us know what you guys need , you too Jerry, just ask, we are the infamous jetski brotherhood. We may argue about our skis but we are brothers above all else.

Couldn't agree with you more. If anyone is looting anything other than food, water, maybe cigs and something to carry stuff in, i.e., luggage there should be zero tolerance and be shot on sight.

I had tears in my eyes just thiking about the children having to suffer thru all this. Knowing how much my 3 kids need things day by day, I can't imagine them going with out for even day. If you have anything to give, diapers, water, clothing food, please don't hold back now. Clean out those drawers. donate a blanket ect.
I still can't beleive what I am seeing. unreal...unreal...
Get on those knees tonight and say a prayer, pray in your car, on your lunch break ect.
I live on the Gulf Coast myself and I feel so fortunate that it did not hit here. I feel angered also as to how longit is taking for help to arrive and the chaos in New Orleans.
To those who have your family members with you, I am glad they are there and safe.

For a country so big and wealthy and the amount of supplies going over seas to help other countries, I still can't understand how long it is taking to help our own. I understand that "thugs" have lost their mind and has hampered the releif efforts, but it still should not take this long.

I heard a comment on Good Morning America this morning that, some of the delay is "because we are waiting for troops to come in from Iraq to help us". Now, that does not set well with me. We ain't got enough here to arrive in a timely fashion? 5 days???...come on..

.....venting......

My friend from Morgan City and others that had ski’s or boats were lined up to go help rescue but the Thugs started shooting at other rescuers so the authorities called it off. Thats sad, the community’s pull together to help out and the Thugs ruin it, UNFREAKIN BELIEVABLE !

Billy, it's not as easy as that...this disaster is now covering 90,000 square miles, with literally millions of people affected. The flooded waters have made the travel almost impossible for relief and help to get in affected areas. One way in and one way out pretty much stymies the convoys getting in the areas quickly.

Redhorse is group of fast response re-builders for the Air Force located here in FWB, they were'nt able to go until wednsday because of the problem of flooded waters to get equipment and men into position. If the city were drained off and there 4 to 5 ways to get in, this would have made it easier for relief crews. This has been a problem from day one. Look at Biloxi, Pass Christian and Bay ST. louis..they are almost unreachable. It takes earth moving equipment to get debris out of the way in order to get relief supplies in. Simple as that.

And sure does'nt help things when people are shooting guns at their rescuers, this is'nt Viet Nam there should'nt be gunfire at the rescue copters, boats and trucks coming in, but thats exactly whats happening.

Everyone should take a breath and be patient..help is getting in as fast as it can. Remember, everyone in the affected areas were under a MANDATORY evacuation. Government can't make you leave during a storm but yet if it hits everyone wants it to get them out. We've learned all too well how long it takes for these things to play out.

This will get better and be better than it ever has before..I have confidence in our nation's people!!! Pray and work!! It will get better!

Kids, try this on for size. Just received some more info and details. I simply can't believe it. People are being raped and murdered at Children's Hospital.

And of course, it is now racial. Jesse Jackson is heading there. I hope someone takes him out. He causes more problems than anything.

Better news: C-130s are being filled up and the Army is going in with shoot to kill orders. Why this didn't happen a couple of days ago is beyond me. Apparently they will be able to land at the base in Belle Chase. It is still there. Thank God!

Did see an interview at the Super Dome this morning on the news of a white man. He was beat to a pulp. His friend was beat to death.

Trust me..we were without power for 16 days and my brother was'nt able to get back into his house for 3 months, been there and done that. Frustration will be overcome as soon as we get the pattern of re-building going and a positive attitude. We are still in the greatest nation in the world, especially in crisis, we shine. Having been through these devil winds and seeing how they hamper our daily lives, we overcame and re-built. We are all made better from the crises we go through in life. It just does'nt seem that way hours after the tragedy.. tears, fear, frustration at things you don't control. It is tough, no kidding but we can overcome it and make it through, we must stand together or be torn apart. I choose standing together and grabbing a shovel to work. We can do it. Cool

Just as I was about to leave with a Yamaha SUV to drive with rescue personnel onboard I was told not to go by FEMA. So now I'm sitting here waiting for a call back with the OK to go. You want to talk about frustrating. Mad

yes we can...We WILL.

just feeling the same frustration and feelings as the mayor and President had expressed also...

some of the things that have happened an taking place is "Not Acceptable"....
but we will work past this.
I am leaving to go to the Astrodome and Reliant park area and drop off goods for the needy.

My cousins were able to drive here in plenty of time. They are staying with two of my aunts in Houston. I am glad they are safe. It has been great to see people across the area opening up their homes for everyone coming in.

I will say too, I am SICK and tired of the MEDIA calling our AMERICANS Refugees ! Mad

RIVA CREW, I hope they will let you in, that would be great !

Thats right below me , they should be fine. We got very strong winds (70 to gust 100 mph) but just minor damage to homes with many trees down. Just no gas and power, but they are working hard on that. Phones and cell phones are starting to come around. Long distance calls are a problem. The gas line (plant) has been repaired in Collins MS, so there getting a lot more gas out to people.
