Are rash guards necessary with a wetsuit? I just bought a new Slippery wet suit. I have been told it's more of a fashion statement.

Rash guards are necessary to protect moving body parts that come into contact with eachother. Underarms, between your legs etc.. Been a surfer all my life and cant live without them. A full body wetsuit will give you a gnarly nipple rash after wearing it all day. Yes, I am serious about that.

Maybe my skin is made of leather, I don't know I have not had any major rash problems with wetsuits. I think it probably depends on your skin You may need one or you may not.

Yes it depends on how sensitive your skin is, though a rash guard might produce a few problems of its own, but the friction caused by the rubber can actually burn after a long continuous ride, as in an ENDURANCE race Danny! LOL, From now on we'll call you leather nipples!!!

Hey I didn't say I do not wear a rash guard just said I didn't think you HAD to have one I raced that Worcester endurance race in shorts on the supposedly skin ripping jettrim seat cover with no problems (well ok maybe a few marks but nothing a big boy can't handle).
