may god help us, I am aware about it, and the outlook does not look very good. it needs all the support it can get, to stop the developer from basicly assuming rights to that property. I hope that political pressure and monitary greedy does not continue to perswade officals to doing the wrong thing. if that idiot is alowed to dredge and put in seawalls, it will have a damaging affect on water currents, and cause lots of troubles for navigating the inlet, let alone alter the sand deposits that could potential block and close that inlet!
i can not fathom how that AHOLE got a "quiet" title, the name itself implies that this was a rotten deal.
my full support and heart goes out that that area, i am born and raised in south florida, all my life, and it hurts to see these destructive actions.
on another note, poor dania/hollywood beach, they have had their beaches destroyed in the name of "restoring the beach", in reality, the rock companies get to sell of unwanted rock left overs, resulting in a beach that is full of rocks instead of soft sand, and not to mention destroying whats left (nill) of the portion of reefs in that area, god help the reefs to the north getting sufficated by unatural degree.
a person (visitor on accation) once said to me, why dont they just turn the everglades into development/communities? i shook my head and attmepted to explain the ecosystem, and how if one expects to have fresh drinking water, and a viable living reef with live fish that nature is important. its bad enough with the development that is currently, and the chemicals from the sugar cane farms (hehe someone proposed a golf coarse - imagine the chemical polutant run off from that - needless to say thankfully that was shot down quickly).
calling out all south floridians to sign the petition!
