yea.
for hitting the waves i usually go out port everglades (ft.laud)and as soon as you get out in the ocean go north 200 feet.
usually a good spot for wave jumping
you can either ramp at john loyd park $5 in dania
or 15 st ramp in ft.laud $1 for 3 hrs.
for hotels, i would not suggest staying near riva unless you want to wake up to find your ski missing.
i don't know how much you want to spend but the marriot on 14 st causeway ft.laud is v e r y nice
and close to ft.laud beach if you like partyin'

also sebastian inlet near vero beach has the monster hole for some killer waves.
that is a must for your way there or back!
have fun and if you need any more info feel free to e me.

Be sure to stop by! Here's a map: take me to Riva!

If you're staying in Pompano you can ride right off Hilsboro inlet. They just finished a huge dredging project. There's a boat ramp (14th St Causeway) within minutes. It's only $5 for parking.

There are plenty of hotels along Pompano Beach to fit every budget. Look in the Atlantic BLVD / AIA area. There's a lot of good restaurants and bars too.
