I know my 97 GP has a security system, to where if you activate it, when u get back on the ski to ride it, it wont crank till u enter the correct code. I use it all the time, espcially when im out with my friends, none of them have a ski, and all wanna ride mine. Well they dont give a crap about other peoples property, so I set it when I leave it for a while. They thought they had it a few times, but it cranked and died, they were ****** , and I just laughed.. Big Grin

Not the GPR Ovid, but you can get a "clam" it's a metal "clam" that locks in place on the handlebars keeping from accessing the ignition switches.

Ovid,
They make a battery lock out switch. It goes in between the battery and positive cable. You have to use the supplied key to turn the switch on to allow current to flow. Try Boaters World or Boat US. They will have it.

I usually use a Kyptonite cable and lock it to the dock or lock my ski together with my friends.

c4del .. I have a lock clamp I'll sell you for $10. It's a tight stainless cover designed for Yamaha's with a stock switch assembly on the left handle bar. I have never used it other that for a trial fit on my 00 GP12r. The cover locks with a small padlock.

No need for that.

If your water temp sensor is operable connect a small inline switch and open the circuit when not riding it. It will not start. If you have triples take the wire harness that goes from the flywheel cover to the side of the cdi box. There are about 5 cables 1 black two green and two others. take the black one and put a small inline switch. This is the one that provides a ground to the cdi. If you open the circuit it will not start. Or just learn how to disconnect the plug. It only takes seconds.
