Anybody heard of a product called ring free ,its a addative you add to the gas,Should i use this in my outboard motors?(2 strokes).


gp1200,triple pipes,gas ported cylinder,riva head ,ride plate(modified),extended nozel,stuffers,ported intake,top secret ignition,custom trim tabs,ect..ect 72mph,1/4 tank of fuel,225pound rider.

My dealer recommended it for my 1300 at purchase. However, I've used it primarily in my 800 with no probs noted. Since its a yamaha product made specifically for 2 strokes, I don't see why you couldn't use it in your outboards. Don't know if it would be safe to do the "shock" treatment though.

all my instructors reccomended that stuff where i went to school. Just don't let it get on ya, you'll lose a fingernail... trust me...

Yes you can, Yamaha recommends it in their outboards also. Check your owners manual or call your dealer if you want more peace of mind.

Thanks for every ones imput,I think i will start using it.My cousin just started using it in his outboard and noticed the exhaust ports no longer had that black soote in them .So i guess its good stuff to use.I dont plan on using it in my moded ski's though.

I forgot to mention it before, but that stuff is made by yamaha, incase you didn't know.
