scott, i will jump in on this one. because riva wants everyone to know that they are proud of our country and those who fought,died, and still fight today to defend our freedom. i for one tell every vet that i meet, that i would personally like to say thank you and shake your hand for what they sacrificed for our country. for me and my family.that makes them feel that what they are doing,or did was worth it.

Because it shouldn't take something like Sept 11th to make Americans unite. Granted, it was a tragedy what happened and we needed to pull together. But I already see the unity slipping away ever so slightly day by day. I probably should add something about that too....

Same here! Just the other night I was at a gas station when a mini van pulled up. What looked to be a young kid got out of the passenger side and walked around to pump gas. He was wearing dress blues. I got that little feeling in my gut that you get when pride is swelling up. He joined the Corps straight out of high school. I made sure to thank him, and his mom, and wish him well.

a few months back, we had a older african american gentleman come into our shop. he was wearing army fatigues with all kinds of patches and chevrons on them. we come to find out he fought in korea, vietnam and somewhere else i forget. he brought tears to my eyes the way he described how he was treated when he came home from vietnam. but he was as proud as ever of fighting for all he believed in and would do it all over again. i , and the others at my shop, gave him a heart felt thank you and a handshake that would make arnold proud. he almost cried. i told him that if no one ever said thanks, then i wanted to be the first. he passed away a few weeks later.
