A while back I wrote about how fast my friend said his seadoo is (97 gsx) and that he claimed it would beat me. This weekend at Summerville I whooped him at least 10 times. From a dead stop and a race from around 20mph up. He never stood a chance. He claims that it is because his ski is not running right. Excuses excuses. He lost and is ashamed to admit it. Besides him, their were alot of races going on. The one that caught my attention was a Yamaha gp1200 that is painted all blue with Riva decals on it. He said his name was Bruce. That thing was extreamly fast. No one could out run him. I might be going back this weekend to Summerville to get a little more action. If anyone is interested, let me know, I'll meet you their.

Hey man, I wasn't their friday, just sat and sun. By the way, I'll give you a call later this week to let you know if I am going to go, and if I do, then I will be their Sat and Sun again. I usually camp out their with my parents and a few friends. We stay at Yeaga park or something like that. We race at the cove where the boat dock is right their. Just curiosity, how fast is your ski, My friend thinks that I just got lucky and that he can out run almost any ski. If he asks, I'll just tell him that your ski is stock. He won't know the difference.

" We race at the cove where the boat dock is right their."
Are you talking about the back cove section between Yegua and outlook, behind the island,by the marina ?
I think I have seen this guy last year praticing with bouy's. It was a GP1200 and it looked quick !
There will be some of the Team Sport Racing guys over at Welch Park this weekend, not sure what day though. Look for Andy Wise, he will have his STX-R and a 2000 XPL, he'll run with you guy's.

Damm I want to go ! maybe sunday. Its my sons 1st birthday saturday.

Hello we were at welch park ,sat. and sun. saw a really good race, seadoo xp almost new , one guy aboard, racing his friends, two girls on a xl 1200, funny thing he picked on them all day long, then they lined up in the cove(the north end), they hit it,and the xp pulled at first, but the two girls flew by after a few seconds, they did this probably 5 times, till the xp had enough..

AUTO?
You friend's gsx didn't work right??
I'd say bad luck, but after hearing this excuse hundreds of times. I'm just wondering:
-Do Sea Doos ever work well?
-Are they just slow?
-Both of the above?

Which one is Welch Park? Is it past Rocky Creek with a sand ramp - was closed off last year but open now? I thought I knew every inch of Somerville (except the shallow parts down south...)

Jay,
No, that spot that you are talking about is what we call the " Free spot" it is residencial. When they get tired of the traffic they shut it down for awhile. Welch is on the opposite side of the lake by the damm. If you were on the water at Rocky creek you would head torwards the damm, overlook would be on the right side of the damm and welch would be on the far, far left. Look toward the water tower. There is a point that comes out and two cove sections, one on each side. Welch does have a boat ramp but we mostly just back straight in.
I talked to Fercho about an hour ago and chances are that he to will be going on sunday. Hope the weather holds up ! If you have any questions you can call me at work tomorrow 713 980-1318.

Sorry it took so long,
Jetskidaddy- I believe that you are right, behind a large Island around the corner from the boat dock on the right hand side.
Bullraider- I also saw the two girls on the ski. they never tried to race me though, that's a shame because they "looked" like they were about 16-20 in age ( I only saw them from a distance, never up close)and I am now single, I sure would have loved to race them for a kiss.
11-yeah, those darn seadoo's never work, that's why my dad and I didn't buy one, and his always has a problelm when he looses, but never when he wins!
Fercho- I asked him the other day if his ski was running right this week because I am going again, and he said yes, but I know that after I whoop him again, he will think of another excuse.
And for everyone who is going this weekend to Summervile, I am going on Sat and Sun. I stay at Yeaga park and will be looking for races behind the Island in that large cove. Hope to see you their! Auto. (Look for a guy on a grey XLT 1200 three seater with a yellow Venezuela sticker on the back)

There is a small chance that Hambone (Tim Hamff)and I will have his XPL out there if we get the mods to it done in time. We wont be out Sunday because he is on duty that day. If we do make it out Saturday, it will probably be late Saturday. Look for a red 3/4 ton Dodge Ram and a Red and Black XPL.

Bring all this boats here to my country at "combat zone" and we will show you the truth meaning of a "fast boat". Ok if you whant to see yamahas xl 1200 3 seaters living the hole side by side with stage II gprs with stinger pipes this is the place, if you whant to see xl 1200 boats spanking the brand new kawasakis STX-R this is the place, if you whant to see a custom built Riva Yamaha s/s gpr boat having his hands full with a couple of (home made) triple pipes ultras this is the place, hasta luego Ray Wink
