Anyone ride Lake Cumberland frequently? Me and some friends are planning a trip there next year and I recall they had a PWC rally of somesort there. I requested some info from Lake Cumberland but what they sent me doesnt say when the next one will be. Any info would be appreciated. Also, good places to ride and stay?

Thanks!

Several people we know are planning on vacationing there the May 16-18, 2003 weekend regardless of whether an AWA promoter gets all the details worked out for a formal rally. Hopefully the AWA will also block that weekend from racing this year! Could develop into a bike week type of thing. Or maybe not.

That's the last weekend before rates go up for the season. Weather is still unpredictable . . highs were 80s 2 years ago and 40-50s last year. The lake is huge . . spent a LOT of money on gas.

Last year it was at the Jamestown Resort. Nice place, looong no wake zone though. Post or shoot me an email if I can answer any questions.

may is definitely unpredictable weather in KY.

The lake is deep and the water doesn't warm up until late july so be prepared.

Even when rates go up, Jamestown has some cabins over by the pool that are downright cheap. These are not the luxury cabins, these are the one notch above tents cabins...

keep us posted, We might meet you down there..let us know if kids r coming or not too so we can plan accordingly.

I will never go to another large pwc rally, by the way...too many riders unaware of their surroundings.

There would be 3-4 of us and no kids. We wont need anything fancy to stay in so the cheaper the better, would rather spend the money on fuel.I have to plan well ahead due to my job. We can only hope for good weather. Are the falls going all the time or are they better on certain dates? Is Jamestown a good starting point? It would be nice to get out there with others from the forum, we'll all have to hook up.

Jamestown is very nice..we stayed in the rooms overlooking the lake and it was a great deal off season.

With 4 of you anything there, even luxury , might be well doable...they have a website. The state dock has indoor pool, hot tub, etc but it's a 45min longer drive than state dock..but worth getting info on.

Another option is to rent a houseboat..these are very luxurious with hot tubs etc..not ususal houseboat.

Jamestown gas is okay but other marina gas caused problems with last years boats. Do you have your own cans?

send me an email and i'll dig around for the brochures at home. dav_dman@yahoo.com

There were several different falls and all had running water about that same time last year. A couple you could ride behind and through, others were higher up on the hillside.

Jamestown and State Dock are right next to each other on the water but not real close by land. Nice location to see different arms of the lake.
