I am new to the waverunner thing and want to buy a 3 seater PWC but have no idea which one or what make to keep my eye out for. Can anyone tell me honestly which is the best brand of PWC and which one would be ideal for me and my family.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to our forums! Stand Wave

There are a lot of great models out there. Before we can make any suggestions it would help if we had a little more info.

  • Will this be your first PWC?
  • What type of riding do you think you will be doing primarily?
  • What conditions will you be riding in primarily?
  • What is your budget?
  • Do you plan to do any long rides or trips?
  • Do you plan to modify your craft?

honestly not because i own yamaha's Smile but they have always known to be the most reliable PWC on the market IMO. I have a FX High Output with over 160 hrs on it and still have in the original spark plugs Wink and have never had to have any repairs done to the engine and she still runs like the day we bought it. the other brands have good crafts also but you will find that you will spend more out of pocket to keep them running

wow, I beg to differ, especially having experience with the seadoo platform. Yes the 3 seater hulls are stable, but i have to disagree with the reliability of the 4tec.
the only 4 tec that would be most reliable would be the GTI series or any other NA motor.

SC issues, still problems, timing chains snapping, even when going by the book with maintenance. then you have bucking issues with the "high power" ski`s... Roll Eyes
BRP`s warranty is horrendous if the engine suffered a SC disaster and it needs to be cleaned properly. and if you don`t have the warranty, you might as well dig a big hole in the yard bc a funeral is way cheaper.

If this person/family is looking for all around good performing machine than any Yamaha FX/sho series ski and dont discount the VX if he`s just looking for great economy and a medium speed cruise...

The FZR and FZS are the new 4 strokes and they are cleaning house!
