The BIG party / races are the 14th. Please don't let the title fool you. We had the best time of our lives there the past years that we've gone.
What goes on is one gigantic party on the water. There must be at least 200 to 400 boats anchored and tied together out in the Naples Bay, supposedly to watch the canoes race by. Not a chance!
Between the balloon tossing, dancing, wet t-shirts, bikini clad ladies, and oh yea, the young drunken studs who try to bean us along with everyone else with their water or other liquid substance filled balloons. Last year it was mustard balloons. We'll see what this year brings.
Here is what you will need to bring if you join us: fishing net to scoop up all of the unbroken balloons to wing back at the boaters. A large squirt gun, like a super shooter, one of those cannon looking things. Maybe some drinking water and snacks. I usually convince some boating beauties to surrender some food and drink with the promise not to deluge them with my XPWC, "xtreme pumping water cannon"

. Maybe I can camouflage my ski like a big old canoe and infiltrate their race????
They actually have a group that goes all out and builds things on their canoes for the fancy division. One last year was made to look like an aircraft carrier, **** nice one I must say!!! There were many others, just can't remember due to the numerous balloon blows to my head. That reminds me, bring a hat, it softens the blow.

Launching at Brookside marina on Davis about 9 am. If time allows I'm gonna try to head down to keywaden after the race. I have a commitment for Saturday evening so I will be watching the clock. It was great riding the surf back up the beach on the gulf side. totally deserted so we could get within feet of dry sand riding the waves as they crashed on shore.
