I just recently replaced all the gaskets in the engine and decided to try and get this thing running again. It turns over good with the spark plugs out and there being no compression in the engine. When i put them back in and try to turn it it just goes slowley. It had water in there two years ago but i got it all cleared up and it spins fine. I also bought a used started off ebay thinking that it may be the problem and it does the same exact thing. Is my battery not charged enough or what? I dont want to throw money into this thing if i cant figure out the problem . Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.... Thanks.

Steve you might have answered your own question.
Start with the battery. Make sure it is a good fully charged battery.

This confuses me, what was wrong with all the gaskets, and if these gaskets were all bad what about the internal motor parts?

Tell me this doesn't mean it sat with water in it for 2 years then just got "cleaned up now with the "all new gasket" job?

No it had water in the compartment for a week when i was gone.This happened two years ago. After that the starter wouldnt turn over any more so i thought it was the starter. I took it upon myself to do a full engine gasket replacement because i had the engine out of the ski and it was only 45 bucks for the set. Replaced the oil seals on the crank and all.

Also replace all power cables,battery to solonoid,solonoid to starter,ground cable.

I never even thought of that. I will do that. Thanks alot
