I posted on PWCToday last week. Hope we can get more out! Be sure to bring cameras so we can get some shots of the action. I'll try and remember to bring some homemade bouys for us CC guys.

food 4 thought...

if you guys put bouys out there.....what is the state police going to require??

i for one do not want to draw attention to us out there. its one thing if we are doing straight line radar runs....its another if a few/bunch are running around a course within feet of each other at 50-60 mph.

my point, if you all set up bouys, it may shortening our stay sooner then expected.

perhaps if a bouy course is to be set up, it should be at a different location then the radar runs. jmo

Revised Image with suggestion for Closed Course "ACTION". There is a little beach (sand) area on this island where you could beach your ski or video the event.

Good idea! My ski is not fast enough for radar! Just a slow CC boat!

Never heard of flares either....but anyone who wants to ride in the ocean, be prepared for a 30-40 minute full throttle ride to the barnegat inlet. FYI...There is a gas station near the inlet.

OFF SHORE REQUIRES FLARES. MY WIFE AND HER BROTHER GOT CITED FOR JUST THAT. ORANGE FLAG IS FOR SKIERS IN JERSEY. WATERCRAFT TOWING SKIERS MUST HAVE THE FLAG.

i have riden around lbi a dozen or so times...never got stopped by the coast guard....which i assume, it is there law/reg.

NYS requires a orange "distress flag" be on board. different from a "skier" flag. b@stards gave me citation for it about 8 years back.

Thanks for the invite. Unfortunately we already had an event planned that day for Bulls Island. I wouldn't be able to make both. Looks like my GPR will continue to collect dust this year! Thanks anyway and have fun guys.

Oh btw- I've ridden that area quite a bit (in the ocean near BL), you shouldn't need flares.

D-Day is almost here. Lets get a firm time to meet up. Since c4del is coming the farthest, we should probably make the official meet-up time around 9:00AM.

Those that want to be there earlier will give us that extra time to get everything together and help Hopatcong setup his radar or whatever needs to be done.

What do you guys think?

make sure you bring me a at least 150 so i can attach them to the back of my boat for some extra thrust. now why didnt i think of that sooner????

i will be there early. the gun isnt any issue to set up...only if someone wants accel. data. then the lap top must be used. even at that, its no big deal, just a wire and save function on the laptop. need4pwr and myself will man the gun....so long as he doesnt mind.
