I was wondering if anyone has ever ridden Lake Possum Kingdom? I might head up there this weekend. It is about 75 miles west of Ft. Worth. I heard that a lot of women from TCU (Texs Christian University) party there. Any input?

My wife and I really like PK.I haven't seen that many girls there but the hot spot is hells gate close to bluffcreek marina on a hot sat. afternoon.It can get rough so we usually get a real early start in the morning (9 am), and cruise the day.

Hells Gate? What do you mean hot spot? Lots of women or lots of skis? I was hoping to head up there this weekend, but the weather sucks, so I will hopefully head up there next weekend.

Lots of boats if the weather is nice. But it is probobly too early in the season for most people. It is still a nice lake with lots of cliffs.Give it til May to get going.

Sounds great. How is the water. Pretty clear? Do they have cabins to rent out there?

I used to ride at PK back in 93 before I came to Japan. Also used to rent pontoon boats and teach scuba diving out there...I can't speak for it now of course, but it used to be a good place to go - not very big but it was pretty cool back then...had some good camping spots too...

We usually tent camp up on the north side, north of sandy beach. By the way, sandy beach is a spot for girls in the summer.There are cabins, try bluffcreek marina, they would know. The water is some of the clearest in Texas.As you know all lakes in Texas are manmade except for I think Caddo. We usually go twice a year.

If you want a BIG CLEAR lake , try lake ouachita in arkansas. Lots of islands, rock bottom and shores, and about 400 feet deep at the ***. Great tent camping and cabins on lakes hamilton and ouachita. It's well worth the drive, 5 hours from dallas.

Hells Gate is due south of point "E". Point "C" is refered to Sandy Beach and has some excitment. Going South from Sandy Beach is usually some very rough water...The area is refered to as "Broadway"....not 2 seater friendly. Point "F" is high class realestate. Water is very clear and scuba divers are around. Overall nice lake. I go about once every 2 years. I live NE of Dallas so Texoma is closer.

All I have to say is, that lake is awsome! It is really beautiful. I had a chance to go to that hidden cove surrounded by the rock formations. There were lots of boats (and women) there, anchored and just chilin out. I almost ran out of gas on the lake, but made it to the Citgo station on the lake to fill up with only 1.8 gallons to spare. Anyways, I will definately make the trip up there more often. It was worth the drive.
