Hey guys,
I'm looking to pick up a new ski very soon. The wife will get my XLT12 and I am looking for a new ride. I really have no love for Doo so the extra price and horror storys of the past keep me looking away from the RXP. I had a chance last summer to run bouys with an STX-R and loved it. My only concern is lack of top end speed the 1300R will provide. I really never warmed up to the colors of the 03 GPR, I do however, really like the 04 look.

Stock top end speed of each boat?

Thx,

TW

Your worried about the top end speed of the 1300R!...These things out of the box are hitting speeds of 64-65!Dump a stage 2 hit on it....FORGET IT! Get the 1300R.The RXP is a cool looking boat.Heard of it running 67-69mph. That is another option.Im pretty sure it will holeshot a stage 2 1300R from what ive heard, but the top end......its all over for the RXP.The RXP im sure will handle better in the 1ft+ chop.Main thing is do you ride in restricted waters such as "no 2 stroke" area's? You can take that 4 stroke almost anywere and ride.

Good luck to ya and just buy what your going to be happy with.Im just giving an opinion.

Thanks Woody, my original post is not clear. I am worried about the top end speed of the STX-R. I know I'll be pleased with the 1300R or the RXP. Funny how the R12X is almost never brought up anymore.

Ive got both a 1300 and rxp and both boats are great far as stock goes the rxp will run off and leave both the 1300 and stxr. The rxp will take off with a limted stxr that has novi carbs r-d head 155 pounds,v force reeds, skat prob, timing advance, pump wedge, ride plate, then the rxp will slowley pull it on top. but if u spend 2000 in mods on the 1300 u will be ok and thats the facts

Dan,i think the RXP will holeshot you since they plain so fast but in the end its going to be all you baby! Its going to take a good amount of track and good water to pass him.I think the RXP will DOO about 66-67 and you at 68-69.Like i said, its going to take some water to get him. Razz These RXP's run 67-68.5 at sea level.

I'd go with the supercharger at 4,000ft.

the SC motor is a tremendous improvement over the sh!t two stroke seadoos. I'd check out the RXP since it is a great deal stock.

Has anybody even considered the fact that the RXP weighs over 130 lbs more than the 1300?

Guess if you're interested in ONLY speed... it wouldnt matter... but getting another 130 lbs outta water sure sux

Its all what feels best when you ride it. Which has the most comfort and control to you? This is were the "fun" factor takes effect.
This is the most important thing, others are not pointing out.
To me the GPR was just to wide for me. So I bought the STXR. If the RXP had been out there I would have looked at it also.

There will ALWAYS be someone faster than you out there. I don't care how much money you have dumped in it.

Don't count the R12X out just yet. First of E-Z'r to work on than 1300 GPR and the sea-poop,axsess panels on side to get at engine and on raer to get at turbo area. Honda was smart E-NUFF TO THINK OF THESE PANELS ON THERE FIRST TRY AT MAKING PWC's. Super Jim over at pwc today has a turbo boost kit for the hondas, dave at IMPROS knows how to pich prop for best performance.Fit,finish and Quality of the HONDAS (2nd to none!) And you know darn well RIVA is going to have a good boost system and other performance mods for the HONDAS any time soon now. On my two F12X hondas I have had dave re-pich props, moded intake grate and angle cut ride plate,I'm waiting for boost system until I see what RIVA is going to have. NO matter what don't lower your self to a sea-poop, a couple of nice things about the 1300 GPR are FI,the sound deadening system is very good ( leave it in, take it out and boat gets way to loud and sloooooows down!) Any way do your self a favor and make a good deal on a 2003 R12X take money saved and do your mod stuff, 2nd choice-1300GPR.

I have 2 f12x hondas best all around watercraft that I have owned. Allso 2 2003 1300 gprs riva mod stuff going to do more, to make them faster than they allready are. Former Kawi-Polaris dealership owner, now just have fun runing A bizz I have owned for 20 years and riding my 4 pwc with family and freinds.

The Hondas had well better be dependable, because if something breaks lots of luck trying to get replacement parts. Seems like they use just about every part produced in a new ski and don't stock any parts for repairs. Almost everytime I order parts for a Honda, the order comes back "not available". I also think the factory should stand behind the warranty claims...they have more excuses when something breaks than Sea-doo ever had. With a few exceptions, the dealer network is not knowledgeable either. IMO I would steer clear of Hondas until they get their act together.
