Sommerville. How many times do I need to tell you that...........DAMM Big Grin

Take beltway 8 to 290 and Westt towards college station and past Brenham home of Blue Bell Coolice cream. Stay in 290 take 36, on the second or third light there is a shell station and a sign. Go to Rocky Creek park.

The ramp is 70 miles from 290 and Hwy6/1960.

Nice place..........Be careful with the rattle snakes this time of the year

KNR , when you get there go across the *** and turn left welch park, it is cheap, go to the jet ski cove, we call it , nice beach type area , some rock, lots of walking area for the kids, and pretty shallow 20-30 feet out, on the side away from the boat ramp , we will be there memorial day...hope mine is runnin' by then...

Its exactly like that, you can park them out in the water, bring an anchor, mushoom or grapnell, either one, you can park it right where you sit, they also have a few bbq pits, just remember to go across the damm, I think you and the mrs.,and the kiddos will like it,

As a matter of fact Rocky Creek was the spot I first ever got my arse handed to me, it figured that was the day I met Fercho Big Grin What even worse is his nephew handed both of us our arse's with Nando's old 99 XL1200, (you should have never sold that ski bro).

Yegua is pretty nice also, there is a nice sandy cove section (this is Mick's spot)near the boat ramp were the kidos can play and around the corner is a larger cove section with smother water.

Welch is where the Team Sport Racing guys sometimes go, they like it because they just unload from the shoreline(yes there still is a boat ramp also), leave there trailor in the water if need be, and they can pull their ski's in and out while testing & tuning without dealing with the hasle of waiting for the boat ramp. Plus they can set up a Buoy coarse without being harased.

I am glad you had a good time , I hope the directions were ok, looks like in the picture you were near the ramp, we will be there this saturday, but parked on the other side of the road in that cove,i heard the game warden, was out there sunday, SHE , was on a Honda 3 seater, ,she is no joke, a guy was acting up, spining around in the no wake zone, she made him get off and read him the riot act, after that she made him take the ski out of the water, this was his second time doing this,

Lake Sommerville sucks, dude. I know Fercho likes it, but it's just a big open man made lake. I won't travel 2 1/2 hours for that. Clear Lake is great, because it's many things all in one. You can hit the open lake, you can blast through twisty turns in the "hydro thunder" section, or you can go out in the bay and jump boat wakes. There's even several sections with long, smooth straighaways for speed testing/tuning. It's all a matter of preference, I guess.

The biggest problem with Sommerville is the chop. Mid afternoon is the worst because of all the boats. The chop just goes back and forth across the lake since there is nowhere else to go for the waves.
