Seems like last year at this time there were 2 pages of new posts per day, which was really fun. This year seems so sloooooow. Maybe 5 new posts/day. What's going on people?

Perhaps more riding and less posting. Perhaps the knowledge of this board has spread among its members to the point that people don't have as many questions any more.
Or maybe people just aren't posting as much.

It might have something to do with the GPR reaching its practical mod limits and fast 4 strokes on the horizon.

Seems like the GPR has been the ultimate wrenchers dream ski for the last few years though. So many parts and so much potential that any decent wrencher could see really nice gains. I know that even though I didn't achieve the sucess with the ski that I wanted, I still had a lot of fun playing the mod game with the GPRs and really enjoyed the interaction I had with the "old timer" members of the board.

Even though I don't own one anymore I still admire the tightnit group the GPR modder/Riva board folks have become over the years. I don't think any other ski has such a supportive group built around it. Pretty cool if you think about it. Thanks to Riva for setting the stage for such a thing.

Hopefully Yamaha will produce another ski next year that will start the whole process over again. But I can't help wonder if TJ leaving Riva marks the end of the Riva High Performance modifcation era and points in the direction of a scaled-back, simpler approach of modding for the 4 strokes of the future.

Actually the last couple of years it seems someone has made the same observation about posts going down. Lot's of folks have come and gone. I'd say posts are about the same. Thankfully less flame wars currently - they tend to drive up post counts.

Modded GPR's are giving 4-strokes fits and will for a few more years at least. Razzbo had some RXP's run and hide from him today - they wanted no part of racing him.

I think Jarrett is right about 4-strokes mods being more scaled back - it's a much more difficult/expensive platform to tweak.

All PWC's are facing the limitations of the small hull / jet pump combo - trying to stay hooked up while the hull is trying to "fly" is the challenge.

And who knows maybe there may just happen to be more mods for GPRs lurking - ready to be released soon...

My two cents - time will tell!

I agree with Jay,you can only shove so much water thru a 155mm hole.Id like to see some exotic mods done to the pumps to make use of the extra power of the up & coming BB set ups, like maybe boring a liner to 158mm or larger-then Nikasil instead of Stainless EekSize does matter Roll Eyes Big Grin

I wouldnt worry about the GPR running out of mods quit yet.We will be on top for a while guys.I think this summer was one of those,"just ride em and do it next year" type of seasons for alot of us.(unless you have a boat that eats cranks every 25 hours) Mad.We wont get into that. The RXP posts have been popular. You know, the new kid on the block type of thing. The latest MONSTER MOD would be the 1300 conversions that Fercho,me ,sea ya and a couple others have built. To me,this setup opens so more doors to performance, combinations etc....Even when Yamaha comes out with a monster 4 stroke,GPR's will still be pushing them around.
