Tide and Featured Ride Update:
This info will be posted on the Resort Bulletin board as well as here:

FEATURED RIDE

FRIDAY 10:00 AM SATURDAY 9:00AM SUNDAY 9:00 AM

ROUND UP IN FRONT OF LOVERS KEY HOTEL BY 9:00AM-these rides always have started late, so lets try to be on time.

You are in for a real treat here,
Be led on a Trip back in time Hundreds of years into the deep depths of the Natural Mangrove Forests and Tunnels created by the Tidal Currents and Mother Nature.

High tides this weekend are at 10:00 AM Friday, 11:00AM Saturday, and 11:30 AM Sunday.
After these times the tide goes out very rapidly and the water will empty out of the Bay and Rivers and we need Water depth in order to be able to access the backwater bays and wooded trails.
By 2:00PM we need to be off the trails and back into the deeper channels or the Safety of the Gulf of Mexico, so we need to do this Feature rides early-- we also like to have the Bays all to ourselves, before the Recreational Boaters and Kayaks show up.

Later on in the afternoon you will be free to seperate from the group and do your own exploring out in the Gulf of Mexico, so lets stick together for these featured rides and lets enjoy these back water creeks while the water is flowing good.

We cannot wait for those who slept late or who forgot to Fill up with Gas, Please Launch your skis with tanks full or fill up the night before with Gas jugs.
Those who begin the rides late can meet up with us at a predetermined location (Straight out in front of the resort about a quarter mile there is a small island on the left, we will be passing by this island about half way through our ride ).
Afternoon possibilities on the Gulf of Mexico include a ride down South to Marco Island (Long ride) or a trip up to Fort Myers Beach (Shorter) or a Trip with TJ up to Sanibel Island . You can relax with family and friends at our Beautiful Host Resort at any time during the day or evening.

We hope you all Enjoy your weekend here.

OK, the party is over and I figure it might be good to post one happy campers thoughts on our gathering. Just in case you might be toying with the idea of joining us next year.

Tj,

Made it safely back home today and i'll have to say that's the most fun jetski ride i'd ever had.
What a great group of people to hang out with, I will definitely bring over my family next time out and definitely stay longer. My friend agrees too.
I'm sort of browsing around the net about travels to Florida keys, i'm thinking of stuff to do with my family down there after or before the jetski fest. Thinking of riding the catamaran from Fort Myers Beach area. I know it sounds too early, but you know what they say, Prior Planning Prevents **** Poor Performance, how's that ?
The last ride we had with Todd was a great ride, my low fuel alarm went off and even though I know I still have quiet a ways to go , I mentioned to Todd, who happens to ride same ski I do and he agreed I have quiet a ways to go before it empties, he reassured me i'll make it back to the resort (which of course made me feel good). The thought of running out of gas in the middle of those mangroves seems pretty scary but I never doubted that i'll be stuck there by myself, for i've seen how guys jump right back in when we think there should have been more jetskiers in the mangroves before heading on to another site. I've seen how guys jump out of their skis and into the water to help out a fallen jetskier.
That short weekend left a lot of long lasting good memories which i'll cherish for the rest of my life. Meeting such nice people like you and your family, Todd , Ken , Andy and his family, Ron ,Robin and Regan, Kim and Leo to name a few plus other folks who I never met formally but made me feel just as welcome are just part of what made this trip worth the 1500 miles drive.
I'll keep an eye on your official website for posting the jetski festival pics.
Once again thank you and until next time, may you have a pleasurable and a safe riding season.

Jeremy
