I agree, I don't understand Yamaha sometimes. They come out with two new fourstrokes with only 110 horsepower. They should have released a high performance 4-stroke in a two-seater platform. I guess they thought entry level 4-strokes would sell better. Oh well, maybe next year.

I think I just heard the sound of a thousand more RXP's being sold.

Any word from the Kawi camp yet?

Hoping for what? We all knew there was'nt gonna be anything special coming. The VX is about making money for Yamaha..the pricing will sell thousands of units. Nice name..VX = poisonous gas, nice going corporate...nice going. I swear, I think these guys pass around a crack pipe for creative ideas, I guess they forgot about their venerable VXR? Roll Eyes

Black 1300R w/ ugly graphics...nice, pass the pipe, you guys are on a roll. Roll Eyes

Not to worry, Kawi is taking their pants off I heard...gonna show their ballz this year. Eek

'01 1300 BB w/ triples, Special K porting, PistonWash tuning...85.2 mph.

That would be nice, but we all know it is not that easy to get 6 mph. Maybe Kawi will unleash a beast this year.

Don't count the new Yamaha 4's out just yet. I can't go into exact details, but I will say that after riding the new VX we were looking at performance possibilities right off the bat!!! Cool

RC, does kinda have a good point. Talking strickly list price you can get an RXP for $10.3k + $700 for the Stage I to hit 72 MPH at a total of $11k.

Now take this VX thing at 7k list, that gives you 4k of mods to reach the same price. Maybe Riva can come up with a $3k kit to hit 72 MPH on it? That would be cool. Tough, but cool Smile

RC, do you have any info on this new High Pressure pump?

RC, get real man, we already have the HO with 160hp. Why do we need to start out modding a 3 seater with 110hp just to end up where the HO is Confused. I'm sure you can make the VX faster but unless you're talking 70+ we havn't made any headway in this years offerings in my book.

Yep, these are the 4 stroke version of the XL700, the rental guys will love them. For the rest of us, I guess there's next year or ah.......there are other companies building ski's aren't there.

Barring any surprises, I don't really see myself buying this year. Although, that hasn't happened in the last four years, hehe.

If SD somehow improves the RXP, I might swap the STXR for that. Or a slightly bigger XP with a smaller SC'ed motor in it would be cool.

I *might* do a SC 15F if they actually make one this year, but I don't know how much faster I really want to go in the chop on the 2K STX hull. Those things are brutal in the chop. I do miss its cornering ability though.

I've been hearing from some folks that the Matrix is going to be very unreliable unfortunately, but I don't see myself buying a 2 stroke ski again anyway. I kind of feel like an ex-smoker now regarding the two strokes. I don't want anything to do with those smelly, carbed, unreliable things anymore now that I can run 70 on a nice, clean, reliable platform. Although some of the two stroke, DI platforms seem cool.

LOL, Fercho. That's easy to say when you can make them go 74. 99% of the folks out there can't.

I did not build his ski, Lowell Horning did. Lowell experience is with snowmobiles and he hit the nail right in the head.

Boring out the 1200 to 1300 will wake up that ski.

Jay is running 73+ and so is Razzbo!!!!!!

IN 90-95 DEGREE WEATHER

OF COURSE YOU CAN ALWAYS GO TO KERRY IF YOU WANT TO GO 76-77 MPH
