Well, we had our own little shootout here in Barnegat Bay New Jersey.
Ski #1 2005 15-f Stock
Ski #2 2005 STX-R 14/20 Solas
Ski #3 2003 STX-R Stock
Ski #4 2006 RXT Super Charged Stock

Let me start off by saying that the STXR in my opinion is still the quickest accerating ski of all time. It beat 2 or 3 RXP's last year in light chop, but let me talk about what happened on this day.

QUICKEST SKI TO TOP SPEED
1. 2005 STXR 14/20 Solas
2. 2003 STXR Stock
3. 2006 RXT SuperCharged
4. 2005 15-f

FASTEST SKI TOP SPEED
1. 2006 RXT SuperCharged
2. & 3. Both STX-r's(Identical every run in top Speed)
4. 2005 15-f

FASTEST SKI IN CHOP
1. 15-f
2. 2005 STX-R 14/20 Solas
3. 2003 STX-R Stock
4. RXT SuperCharged

BEST HANDLING SKI
1. & 2 Both STX-R's
3. 15-f
4. RXT SuperCharged

All riders switched up skis and raced all of the above. Hands down every race both STX-R's would pull a boat lenght on the other skis. Matter of fact, we noticed that by hanging all our weight over the handlebars the STX-R's awesome hole shot hookup even propelled them off the line even better. It would take the RXT about 1/4 mile to catch up and crawl past them. The 15-f allthough almost as fast top end as the STX-R's was back a few boat lenghts because of the worst holeshots compared to the rest.
The RXT felt the most dangerous especially coming off the gas as it would start wandering left and right. The 15-f was truely a delight to ride as it was smooth and very comfortable. The STX-R's allthough not as comfortable as the 15-f were very predicatable and almost impossible to to wipe out even in 6 in chop.
Top speed #'s
1. RXT 64-64.5
2. STX-R's 61.5-63
3. 15-f 60-61.5

If you are going to ride in a bay or any body of water with some chop then both the 15-f and STX-R would be a wise choice as they seem to love the chop. Riding in a lake or very calm conditions then I'd say the RXT would be a very enjoyable ski. These are just opinions of what we experienced and different rider experience and different crafts coujld yield different results.
In the end my favorite was my STX-R with just a 14/20 Solas Prop. It was like a streetbike accerating and along with the 15-f just dominates in choppy water allthough not as good as the 15-f.

Great Info. I always thought the 15F was just as fast off the line and had a couple MPH on the standard STXR, but I guess not.

I have heard that alot too. However I have 1 other friend that has a 15-f and when it was stock last year It was getting beat holeshot too and was about 1-2 mph slower top end. So thats 2 15-f's that were not as fast as the STXR.
Once my friend put the PowerFilter and he reduced some weight off the craft, it was then pulling even with my stxr holeshot.
He now has the cams and piston kit along with the MS109 and he has hit 69 mph GPS with amazing holeshot.

1 More thing to note...
It seemed that with both 2-Stroke STX-R's that when you were crusing say at about 20 mph and hit the gas they would rocket to top speed, where as the 4-Strokes seemed to keep on building more top speed, especially the RXT, kinda taken its sweet ole time to yield 64-64.5 MPH speeds. THis was noticeable by all riders too, but again, once the RXT had its time to catch up it would start crawling past both STX-R's. Only in the calm cove though, as the 15-f and STX-R's were literally raping the RXT in the Open Bay Chop, I mean raping it. THe RXT even with its weight could not hookup for **** in anything near 1 FT. chop. Thats why I think the RXT in stock form is better suited for some1 on a lake or calm conditions once they take care of that off throttle wandering where the ski is literally almost sliding out left and right on deacceleration.

Is this on pump gas? ALL he has is the cams/piston kit/powerfilter and drop some weight? No prop change or anything?

I would buy a 15F tomorrow if I thought i could hit 69 on pump gas.

Thanks

MS109 is not pump gas Cue. It is VP's unleaded high octane.

I just raced an 02 STXR stock with my stock 15f. The STXR does have the hole shot to the 15f but I wouldn't lose anything after the initial jump. We stayed in the same positions. I would love either ski but since I use mine for cruising and not racing I will take the 15f 100 miles on a tank of gas to the STXR 50 miles on a tank. I actually did the drag race at the Rally in St Pete and beat 2 RXP's in the chop only to lose to an STXR in the semi-finals. RXT took the race in the end though.

Some people just don't understand. I was trying to tell someone else that my FX beat a RXP in chop and they said that it would be impossible because when the RXP would hook up, with all its power - 215hp, it would catch up and pull away even it came unhooked for awhile.

My FX has the RPM kit and I smoked a stock RXP in chop. Flat water yeah I'm toast but not bad for a big comfy couch with a cupholder.

I'm not surprised that the 15f smokes the RXT in chop.
