I like the idea dude! how bout central PA, so I don't have to drive as far too!!! Big Grin I'm in western, but could handle an hour or 2 drive easier than 10... Course, my ski is slower than molasses... but it would still be fun!!

I've got no accomodations, but there are quite few places in North NJ, Lake Hopatcong for one.
If the goal is to hit middle PA, then meeting out by Harrisburg? I'll start looking for worthwhile places. Only other large lake i know of is Beltzville State Park in the Poconos.

Not sure what for can of worms I'm opening up here, but-I live 5 miles from Lake Raystown in the heart of Central Pennsylvania. We're approximately 30 miles south of State College(Penn State)and 80 miles west of Harrisburg along Route 22. Raystown is an Army Corp of Engineers Project with 10 or so launches and a 30 mile long lake. It's the largest lake wholly within the state of PA. It's extremely crowded with pleasure boaters on the weekends, especially sundays and holidays. The closest launch to my house is 5 miles which is at the northern end of the lake. From there the lake goes south for 30 miles with only one no wake area, under a bridge.
There are several camping areas at the lake, which are usually packed on summer weekends. And several hotels in the area, which are packed for Penn State home footbal games in the fall.
What does anyone think?

Doesn't sound like a place to have grudge races. Unless the 'get together' is going to be for pleasure and picnics, I think lakes in NJ/PA are just not worth it.

How about the Barnegat Bay in NJ. There's an area that is perfect for grudge races, riding and hitting the ocean.

Just a thought.

i dont care what we do. i think a few of us would enjoy the grudge races . i think a good picnic area would also be a plus. jumping the waves would be a big plus. could u imagine the look on the peoples faces as a swarm of ski's takes over the waves. priceless!! i'm racking my brain to think of a good spot for everyone.

What about corsons inlet? its a bit smoother than barnegat to get to the waves for jumping, and then under the causeway to strathmere leads to open flat bay area for some grudge runs.
But whatever, i just want to ride. Anyone up for Sunday?

I'm in Northern NJ (20 min from Hopatcon and 30 from Greenwood) but let me suggest OC Maryland, It clears out a lot after labor Day, lodging is easy, great bay side hangouts.(having a family place there is also a plus) You also might want to consider Waenpaupak in northern PA but you will probable have the same issues as Raystown. How is the Susquahanna at Harrisburg? Low this time of year?

the number one reason the mudbug was a big success was JERRY. He well organize the event, start from lodging, areas to ride, to all little detail. We need someone who can dedicate some of their time to step up and do the same thing. In other word who want to be the host.
secondly mudbug have miles and miles of long straight and curvy flat water where people just go all out with their speed.
Benny has a nice area to ride where they have a lot of flat water, and also have acces to chesepeake bay where your gonna have 4ft chop all over the place. The problem is no big boat launch in the area.
Anyway Im in.

I KNOW THATS WHY MUDBUG WAS A HUGE HIT, PROBLEM IS NOBODY CAN ORGANIZE IT IF WE ARENT SURE WHO'S GO THE BEST PLACE TO GO. I HOPE SOMEONE CAN FIND A PLACE TO MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY AND THEN WE'LL GO FROM THERE
