Happened to me also on one of our long trips. I rode another 450 miles with the spout in the gas tank with no problem. When I got home, I just pulled out the fuel pump and took out the spout. Its really easy to do once you have done it before. I already put the r&d fuel extender kit on 2 ultras so this is no problem for me. The first time was a b**** though. I think there are instructions on how to install that kit from r&d's site. That would be a lot of help to you as you have to get the fairings and the glove box out of the way before you can access the fuel tank. Good Luck!!!
