1st stay away from the fishermen.
2nd I recommend the "old" Kissimme River area, around hwy 68 and 98 north of town. There is a free, public ramp there. Also there is one where 441 "ends" at 98 at the water, turn west a few hundred feet and you'll see it on the other side of the dyke wall. Okeechobee is not that deep. wind can make it choppy. sportsman have priority.
the "old" Kissimee area has lots of twisties, and gators on the banks. there are some wide strait-a-ways where you could set up bouy course, just stay out of the hunters/jet boats way. It's by no means crowded, just be courteous (they have guns).
some of my fovorite riding is in the Old Kissimmee area, nice long glass-flat areas for speed runs.

Dan, Where in West Palm are you? We usually ride Lake Osborne and hit the ocean out the Boynton Beach Inlet. Maybe we can get together to ride. Chris.
