Anyone install a blower in their hulls on any type of ski? Maybe like a 3 inch.

Not a supercharger but a blower to get air moving inside the hull, possibly lower engine temperatures and increase amount of air drawn into the hull.

many people have with little or no result. most get more results drilling holes in the hood, storage bucket, seat and cowling.

Rode today with a guy that has an RXP with the blower installed, but didn't get any specifics. I'll be talking to him tomorrow morning and will ask him. I'll post later.

are you serious with that little baby fan? you need a fan that will produce 1000-1200cfm or air flow....that little thing looks liek a radio shack ecu fan.

Yeah, maybe they are using the wrong thing. I am talking about a blower. Like a Detmer blower not a fan. This thing is used in boats and it moves air or it's suppose too, it could very well be one of the fan looking things inside of the water resistant shell. Oh well it's only $20 I am going to try it and let ya know what happens.

An engine compartment blower fan for a boat will work. Its Coast Guard mandatory for closed engine compartments on boats. I have one on my `75 Southwind. Its to get rid of fuel vapors as not to pop during startup. It will lower engine compartment temps. I really can`t believe its not mandatory on these for the same reason on boats. That ecu fan ain`t doin jack.

There used to be a company that made blowers specifically for that application. it was a very good thing, it did increase airflow and pressurised the bilge. Effective enough that the IJSBA banned them. However it was mainly used on the raider which could pressurise as the bilge was somewhat sealed not like on a GPR where the only thing between the bilge and the outside world is the seat which doesnt necessarily seal all that well. I think it was callesd Cyclone or Tornado. After they were banned from competition they didnt advertise anymore. You might want to research advertisers in the trades arounf 1996. The unit was mounted in a tube that fit precisely replacing the hose that fed air from under the seat at the back next to the battery if I'm not mistaken.

That little radioshack lookin fan works great for a little ol 785 Pro785.... and NO, I'm rarely ever serious about watercraft. I like to have fun and experiment.

97 Polaris Pro785. It's absolutely wonderful when the temps get up over 110 in Phoenix. The hotter the air, the more of a difference you can GPS when you turn on the fan. It's a fan out of a piece of industrial machinery. Waterproof, vibration proof, and 12V compatable.
