Biorn Tangeland Appointed
Managing Director of IJSBA
January 26, 2004 - Biorn Tangeland has been appointed as the International Jet Sports Boating Association’s (IJSBA) Managing Director, effective immediately. His appointment follows the recent re-organization of the IJSBA.

"We are very pleased that Biorn has accepted his added responsibilities, as we believe his experience and skills are a perfect match for his new role at IJSBA," said Yves Van Heers, spokesperson for the IJSBA Transitional Committee. "Biorn has a proven track record at IJSBA, and we know the various member groups, racers, officials and watercraft community will benefit greatly from his strong leadership."

Tangeland joined the IJSBA in 1995, where he developed and has directed the IJSBA International Affiliate program since it was created in 1995. In nine years the International Affiliate program has grown to 42 affiliated member countries throughout the world. He also managed the extensive international rider and affiliate support program for the IJSBA World Finals.

As the new Managing Director, Tangeland plans to build on five key functions upon which he bases his leadership:

Member Relations
Business Growth
Financial Success
Staff Relations
Communication
"I'm very proud to be part of the IJSBA, and look forward to continuing our long tradition of taking on activities aimed at advancing the sport," Tangeland said. "We have many opportunities and challenges before us. Together, we can meet these goals and, by so doing, ensure that IJSBA is a solid and unified organization representing our community."

The restructuring aims to allow all IJSBA member groups, including international affiliates, aftermarket companies, riders and OEM Manufacturers a shared responsibility and accountability in the future of the organization.
