Riva Crew,

This HSR-Benelli merger; What impact will this merger have on the actual build of the S4 Engine? I don't know much about Benelli, but I have heard they have built race motors for motorcycles. Have you heard or do you for see the S4 motor being improved by the Benelli team in the next couple of years? And how?

2nd Question: I've read about this new 180 Kit; Macc Racing has it on their site (with no details); you guys sell the 140 & 160 kit...got any details on this 180 kit or is this a custom set up by Macc Racing? What kind of performance is expected??? Thanks for the info or insightSmile

The HSR-Benelli merger was strictly for the new runabout program. At this time HSR-Benelli has no plans to change the S4 engine. The current Weber engine has proven to be a very capable and competitive engine. I didn't know the Weber engine utilized in the S4 needed improvement! Big Grin

The 180 Kit is a HSR performance kit. It's the package run by 2006 Pro Ski World Champion Brice Lopez. I don't have exact performance data for the kit. I will check into it and post more when I have the info.

Yeah I agree with your comment. The S4 engine really doesn't need to be improved, but I was wondering how the merger might affect the actual build of the motor (i.e. maybe Benelli had some different ideas on some potential performance improvement opportunities). Anyway, thanks for the info. It is definately exciting to see a 4-stroke stand up perform so well with little modifications (even though they are really really expensive). Let's hope their will be some competition for Hydrospace in the 4-stroke stand up market soon so the Price will come down to a level that most people can afford and we can all enjoy the benefits of a 4-stroke Stand Up PWC Smile

Manufacturer's typically do not revisit a proven platform. I don't think HSR would be any different. Maybe in the future if they redesign their stand-up they will utilize a Benelli engine.

I can't see the other OEM's continuing to offer stand-up's without producing a 4-stroke model. Cool

Well Hydrospace posted the 180 kit on their Austrian web site, pretty sweet. The quick video clip they have before you go onto their race parts page is unreal. I have not seen a Hydrospace racen in person yet, so this was the first time I've seen any racing footage and let me tell you...Kawasaki and Yamaha better step it up about 100 notches because the HSR with a 160 or 180 kit is going to dominate the race circuits for a long time(kind of like back in the day when Kawasaki and Yamaha had factory teams and dominated all of the mom & pop teams).
