Don't know about Houston, but the only place in Beaumont is the Neches River. There is a large "Pond" on 1-10 heading east out of Beaumont that is about the size of Gene's Polaris/Yamaha/Seadoo pond in Baytown. We ride on the Neches, Lake Sam Rayburn in Jasper, or the occasional trip east to Lake Charles.
Where are you located? |

My usual spot is Somerville up just past Brenham. 1 hour drive from NW Houston.
There is a Super Coarse Race there on August 13th & 14th being put on by Team Sport Racing, it will be over at Welch Park |

Boomtown is the "pond' I was talking about. I just like being able to ride in a larger place. Very kid friendly and clean, going in circles just gets old. I went once, by the time I paid for my 3 kids, wife, me, and 2 skis, I spent $30.00 just to get in the gate. It all depends on what kind of riding and senery you are looking for.

Hardy, I have never been to any of those places you mention but always looking for a new place to go. San Jacinto makes me nervous, they usually have someone that drowns there each month.
Riley, I have put in @ both spots and only got into trouble once and that was @ the 210 bridge. I was cutting up in an "un-marked no wake zone", @ least thats what the g/w called it. He was from Louisiana, I was from Texas, I figured I had no chance of winning that arguement. As for you, you think he would show a fellow gun toter a little respect. They might all know you jumped shipped and moved across the river to God's country and are just jealous. |

kirk thanks for the advice, bastrop bayou can be alot of fun, usually on weekend there will be 5-6 people on the bayou with skis. depending on where you put in, there are ramps everywhere, it can get pretty exciting. the middle part of the bayou is wide open, no houses nothing, plus it is really smooth and winding. we get a little racey sometimes and have a 4-5 mile race and back through the bends and corners. I grew up in beaumont and like that area alot. thanks for the help. |

Hey Hardy! Lake Houston is pretty good. I like it better than San Jacinto...and there's a little place to get lunch by the boat ramp!
