With all the new skis coming out and getting bigger and heavier, which of the new stock is best for wave jumping?

I think you would be looking for a newused 97-99 Yamaha GP1200... light, agile, lots of motor.... what all of the discerning wave jumpers ride!!!!!!

Seriously, from a weight and other perspectives... I wonder how the See Doo 3-D would doo.....

Well it's sad to see the GPR is today's lightest stock runabout when just 6 years ago we all thought it was HUGE.

Used XPL or GP for runabout, Blaster for sport and SJ for stand ups are the best jumpers.

Too bad only the SJ is still around.

I think the waveblaster is pretty good at wave jumping but I mean today with the new skis. Which out of the huge skis available today would be a worthy wave jumper.

They all can jump waves but which is actually pretty good at it. Which out of todays ski would you be able to do a nose stab. Which ski now a days would be best for wave jumping.

R12X, GP1300R, RXP...........

R12X/RXP/1300R?

None is an ideal jumper, worst comes to worst I'd say 1300R.

I got some mega air from my bud's 1200/1300 GPR.

It jumps pretty well, the only downside is that you have get on the power early compared to my GP. Also doesn't turn very tight to setup for the next one.(if you are jumping boat wakes)

Best jumpers are standups no doubt.

I ride an 05 superjet and it soars...it's light and has the quick power used to pop off the water/wave.

If your talking about a runabout that you can buy NEW today.... the best jumpers would have to be either an Ultra 150 (are they still making that???) or the new 3D with the 951 motor in it.
If your talking about buying used then refer to the posts above.

PS: I know the 3D gets alot of bad press... mostly by people (standup riders) that have never ridden one but if you like sitdowns better than standups, and your looking for new fun playfull ski and not too concerned about top speed then the 3D is the way to go. I rode one at the WF's this year and I thought it was a blast.
IMO its not a standup, its not a fast sitdown, its simply somthing different and fun. Light and playfull compared to other current skis.

You guys are way off the best sit down jumper would be the Blaster and the BlasterII. Look in the mags you never see anyone doing tricks on a 12-1300 like they do the blaster.

Hornet,
Pick up the latest issue of Personal Watercraft Illustrated (Feb '06) and look inside the back cover.... with a few mods looks like the 3-D might be the answer to your question......
