I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but the International Hot Boat Association has PWC drags as part of their racing.

If you look at the other results on their website you can see that they have PWC drag races at many of the other stops.

Unlike most PWC races, thousands show up for the Top Fuel Hydro races. And they are pretty cool.

The pwc drags are just like any other; dead stop to a 1/4 mile through the lights. It's kind of a west coast event, but I think some of you guys would like it. Huge exposure, like I said, lots of fans show up and it's a big party.

The guy who won did a 61 mph run. Hell, I could beat that easy.

Is anyone here participating in these drags?

IHBA

Here is a past thread over your topic. I think there a few that did it. Looks pretty neat.

Well, the entry fee is $100 for all the tour stops and it is aired on Speed TV. If the $100 includes entry into the event, even for one stop, it's a good deal. There is also a $100 membership fee, so maybe not that great of a deal. When that other thread was written, top speeds for GPR's were around 75ish and now they are 85ish. The PWC will actually be faster than some of the boats they have racing.

Get the holeshot, immediately go into a superman for a national audience on Speed TV and watch the Top Fuel Hydro's afterword. Seems cool to me, I go just to watch the Alcohol and Nitro boats anyway. Lots of girls, beer and the pits are open. All the people I have met at the races have been cool to me.

Some of you guys should go to the finals at Firebird and impress with some 85 mph runs. People will freak, they have no idea that skis go that fast.

I am not really into any motorsports except skis and motorcycles, but the drag boats are awesome! 240 mph in a 1/4 mile. That alone is something to look forward to. At Firebird, I am sure that there will be several thousand spectators...and, I mention it again, girls and beer.

Just entry into the race as a spectator in SD was $45 for one day. They cancelled the Top Fuel boats on Sat afternoon because of wind and some noise complaints. I *****ed to the promotors, and they gave me free entry for the next day. So they might be somewhat flexible.

Nov 16-20th in Phoenix means good air.
