Joe rides like a maniac though. He heads for the roughest water and holds it pinned all day long Big Grin.

Your snout will probably last longer.

personaly I wouldnt take any preventive measures. Depending on how many hrs is on your ski its just not worth the hassle. In order to install the carrier bearing mod you pretty much need to remove the motor. If you have a high hour gpr your better off waiting until you need to do a rebuild. If the snout does break usually if the bearings are in good condition your only talking about 100 bucs to have a new snout pressed on the old crank. At that point you can have protec true and weld the crank for another 100 bucs and than do the mod to the front cover and or get a lightened flywheel. Dont sweat the small stuff. My buddy gpr721s ski has over 140 hrs on his snout and crank and that crank is in perfect condition. We did the rebuild on his ski and sent the crank to protec to true and weld it. The bearings looked brand new and the snout showed no signs of cracking.

Thanks Joe for the death wish, I guess my crank will be the next to go. Like Mr. Hydrotoys says "Ride more and worry less". I would recommend if you have some down time this winter to tear it down and have the crank T&W and change the pistons and rings. Especially if you are still using the OEM pistons. My GPR ran better than new after the rebuild, that is until the cylinder fell apart. Mad

When I rode with Joe @WF's poker run last year he said"I'm gonna take it easy on the equipment today, and enjoy the scenery"Right before he pinned all day long Big Grin
Later he said "Well, when I saw smooth water I wasnt going to hold my GPR back Roll Eyes Big Grin
